New 2015 Mahjongg Dimensions Game
Don’t mean to be grumpy, but… this new game is lame, at least on my computer. The graphics are really fuzzy and the game is basically identical to the one already in the Arcade. Can someone please tell me who/what/why/where is so "new" about this game?

This new game is sub-par in my book… only pays out about half of what the original Dimensions pays. not worth my time.
-
I can’t play this new game at all. It hurts my eyes and gives me a headache. And it makes me go very much slower. I hope HSN will return to the old game.

I don’t see any issue with the graphics but I do have a new computer. The ticket count is low, but I am not really bothered by that and I don’t follow the leaderboard stuff. I play the games basically to compete with myself seeing if I can top my high score. The tickets are nice but it isn’t that difficult to get enough tickets to use on the rewards items that I am interested in.

Just did a test run and it looks like you get 5 tickets above 5,000, 10 tickets above 10,000 and 15 above 15,000. My highest score so far is 41,000+ and the most tickets I’ve gotten is 15. CORRECTION: 15 above 25,000 points.
I don’t know why they mess around with the tickets. Maybe they’re making up for having the tickets be so easy on the Holiday Mahjongg compared to Dark Dimensions.
If you’re just playing for the tickets, Snow, no, it probably isn’t worth it. But I like the game and I like the way it plays better than Mahjongg Dimensions so the tickets aren’t an issue for me.
EDIT: Also discovered accidentally that when I ran out of moves on the second level, it gave me a "No More Moves" message and sent me to level 3.

WAIT ONLY 15 TICKETS ? WHAT ???

I kind of remember the older versions as I has been so long ago .BB

XATDI—-Those cubes are tricky..can you refresh and do so every 5 seconds into the game.I did this and somehow it stunned the system and then I hit 500–yet got 150 . This was a few days ago and I was really learning and enjoying the game, but anytime it acts in freeze mode I just hit refresh-
BB P.S Keep us updated-

Um, maybe I’m missing something, but how do you earn tickets in this game? I finish the cube under the alloted time, yet I don’t win a single ticket… wtf..

sweeny22 is right. The quality of the graphics is very bad and as far as I can tell there are no changes except for the lower score scale.
-
Has anyone gotten more than 15 tickets on this game?

Another difference from the regular Mahjongg is that it gives you a bonus at the end of the rounds.
As far as it being a Happy New Year 2015 version, maybe they were going to have party icons, but then found out that showing bottles or glasses containing certain beverages violated the guidelines.

This plays faster, on Chrome anyway, and the sounds aren’t as "harsh" to me? I have to try it now, without the zoom…but the old version will stay so everyone won’t be complaining about where is the OLD version. And with this being a Happy New Year version…it won’t be around long. But my first try, I didn’t improve my score any….:smileysad::smileywink:

I didn’t even notice that there was a new game until I read your post, sweeny. Thank you. I went to play the game expecting an unsatisfactory experience.
I don’t know if a different browser could make a difference (I’m using IE11), but I thought this version was much clearer than any of the other Mahjongg games. It also played faster for me and I had higher scores on this version than I did on the ‘old’ version. Now, by higher scores I don’t mean great scores–just higher for me. I also thought being able to use the keyboard arrows was good.
I see that the Mahjongg Dimensions is still on the Arcade which seems strange because they have the same symbols. The old game is not on that group of 4 that you can scroll on right above the leader board, but it is still there if you click on ‘View All Games’ on the blue banner right above that ‘moving strip’ of 4 games. And I really didn’t figure out what made it a Happy New Year 2015 game.
But for me this new version was a definite improvement in graphics. That seems odd that we could be having such a different experience, but it wouldn’t be the first time that things were odd with the games.:smileywink:

I know zero about computer programming also, but am blown away with your reply. You pointed out 3 things that are different and I missed each one when I played this AM. Guess I should have had that 3rd cup of coffee before posting my question. Thanks for the heads up and look forward to reading more from you in the future.

I agree that the graphics are fuzzy, just as they were with the Holiday Mahjongg. Don’t know enough about computer programming to know what causes that. The biggest difference I can see is the ability to shuffle manually. Also, I like the fact that the current tile icon is on the right of the screen instead of the left. I’m not sure why that matters, but that’s one of the things I missed when I moved from playing on another site to playing on HSN. It also seems to me that the sound on this one makes it easier to tell when I’ve missed a consecutive match.
