Question regarding the Sporto Slippers TS leather source

I know aren’t those A.G. ink pads tempting? I think you can wipe down the ones you mentioned with either just a wet cloth or you could maybe use a non alcohol baby wipe. I thought I saw Sara Davies maybe mentioned that.

I know I missed out on a lot of great items myself on craft day. I did have a great time watching everything. It gets hard for me sometimes to decide on what would really be the best item or items to order. I then go over board and order all of it. I try to be very careful as to what I do buy so that I make sure I really use it and have a use for it.

I am just blown away at all the crafty things HSN has to offer now. They also have some awesome looking fabric and quilter squares and rolls. It is always all so tempting for me. I love their sewing machines and when my little sewing devia is on Darlene Cahill it gets really too tempting. I already have five sewing machines from HSN and I do use them. I do really love them. I am only one person so many machines lolo.

I’ve been looking at those Anna Griffin ink pads and did see the presentation where Sara used the markers on the stamp. There was a set of Mason Rowe pads but they sold out in a flash.

I did see some Tim Holtz videos on YouTube, using his Distress ink products…well, not for me right now as that stuff just looked like a mess.

I’ll probably have to do some experimenting with different brands but figure that solid dark/bold colors will work best in the beginning. Then I still have to find out about cleaning…do the clear stamps need to be cleaned some how?

I too am interested in inking stamps. I watched a gang of videos on how to use stamping with Brothers cut n scan drawing and cutting machine. What I am interested in is making my own stamps. I have instructions on how to do that using my Brother cut n scan.

As for ink pads I myself would like colored ink pads as well as just black or blue. I did a little search here as well as a few other places. Here is what I found. I too did see the ones that are chalk and thought they must be used for giving a very soft chalky look when stamping. I am not sure but gave me that impression.

I found these by Anna Griffin Item number 333-562 set of 8 pads masculin. A customer pick and is a 5 star item.

Then I found these Dew Drops Dye Ink Pads Item number116-8504 12pk Gum drops. 5 star item.

Now I saw in a video someone using what looked like this style to edge around a cut item to give it more pop and I thought it did the job well.

Personally if I were buying inks at this time I would look for something that has a good size pad and something that has a lot of choice of color. I also liked the idea of taking the Septrum Noir alcohol markers that Sara Davies used to color the Crafters Companion Rock a Blocks stamps.

As for stamps there are many choices of design and material the stamp is made out of.

I have some foam ones but I think I would rather use a good old fashion rubber stamp. With my foam stamps I tried to emboss velvet fabric with it. The imprint of the embossing only lasted for a short time then I had to do it over again. I did that by using a hot iron and placed the stamp right side up under the fabric and then pressed the iron on the fabric.

 I can remember back in my youth making a stamp out of a cut potatoe and using just a black ink pad.
