Bearpaw TS 10-29-15 – Don’t get wet?

gina… It’s a boot… but, it’s a Suede Boot. To protect the Suede from water, you’ll have to treat it with Scotchguard. It’s a spray that you spray all over the Boot, but not the Soles. I spray Scotchguard on all my Boots every year when we go into Fall/Winter… I live in the mountains, so, there’s plenty of rain and snow here too. The Scotchguard works great.

You used them for actual winter weather, not when it’s wet. Snow, not rain. That being said, I do wish they had sturdier soles and just generally could stand up to water better. Back in the day there were rubber kaloshes that you could wear over boots… I wish they still sold. 

that is why i would not buy them i would buy the other brand that is more pricy you can get them wet with no problem. also the bottoms do not look at sturdy. looks like i would slip on the ice with them. a few years ago. i bought a cheap boot like this from target and it was awful so i spend the money on the better brand and never looked back.

Winter weather IS cold weather.  I get the feeling the Bear Paws are for cold weather only and not cold inclement weather with precipitation of some sort.  If it says don’t get them wet that way, then don’t and just use them for really cold days without rain/snow.  I also suppose they are not waterproof and that is another reason they don’t want you to get them wet.  There are some brands of footwear that ARE suede that you can get wet and they are considered "weatherproof" or waterproof.  Just not these.
