I bought an HP printer with a 1 year warranty. Used it twice and it quit picking up WiFi. Stayed on the phone with them for three hours, and let them into my computer so they could check it. After all that they told me they would send me a printer. What I received was a Reconditioned (used) printer. It was bad, very slow and noisy. I was not happy with it so I put it back in the box it came in, sealed it up, and called HP. They asked what I wanted. I said a new printer or my money back. They escalated it to management. The first thing he said when he called, he wanted to troubleshoot. I said no, that thing is in the box ready to be shipped to you as quickly as I can get to FedEx. He asked what I wanted and I told him the same, so he said they would send a new one. And they did.

My HP desktop is a piece of junk, too. I hate it. It is the slowest computer I’ve ever seen. I will never have another HP anything in my house.

never had a hp but I would send it back. I owned dells and they are junk accept desk top works great for over five years. I think I will be buying apple products in the future. you could buy a warrenty from best buy at geek squad that amy help you. 

Piece of junk.  Refurbished and full of malware and viruses.  How can it be sold as new?

Walmart and Best Buy sell refurbished computers, but they Label and Advertise them as such and they price and sell them as such.

I really want to know for a fact if these are refurbished. What I do know is Vtec is shady as all get out, and I’m sure QVC’s support is too. They tell you that you have viruses, malware, etc. so they can sell you their $300 per year security suite!  They choose the price to start, then go down when you refuse. I was suckered into believing that Vipre wasn’t  very good and after hours of them playing their dirty little games trying to "help" me with different things I didn’t know how to do, I gave in. 

I was so frustrated I bought Defender Pro for $300 for the lifetime of my Son’s laptop! Now, I was supposed to get even better service from Vtec when I had any viruses, questions, needed help, etc. after this. They installed it for me remotely. What a SCAM!!! HSN is full aware of this game but they don’t care. Later Vtec didn’t care either when I did call for help. 

So, was it refurbished? I don’t know. There weren’t signs of this. 

I don’t know which model of HP you have but the one I have has a lot of review comments about how slow it is.  If you don’t like yours I would send it back.  I will probably keep mine, as I will be replacing its hard drive with a much faster SSD drive.  

Many review comments for the HP I have, are not all true.  Its not fast, but its not near as slow as so many claim for browsing the web.  Some claim it has no drive activity light but that is not true either, some claim they can’t play/run Farmville on it, but I tried it and it runs fine..  The hosts did misrepresent the laptop though, they talk its its the next greatest thing, when its not.

Most Laptops are very slow.  My brother has a high end Intel i7 cpu laptop, and I am the one that has to fix it all the time, and its so incredibly slow.  Its the very reason I will never give up my very large desktop computer for any laptop.  The cpus in laptops are NOT the same as desktop cpus despite what any host claims or how they brag about how many cores it has.

There is a reason why the large desktops are so big, its to fit the larger parts inside it, those parts are much faster than the tiny parts inside of laptops or tablets.  

Sorry for my rant.

I heard that HP was bought out.  The one we had was supposed to be new.  When we started it up it still had personal information from a previous user.  Back it went.  It came from QVC and later replaced with another brand from HSN…….Ronnie
