Robert irvine slicer
So my hubby was slicing potatoes and literally sliced the top of his pinky off. It was a gift from my mother in law and she during the hsn infomercial the guy literally cut his finger, seriously why would you sell something so dangerous??? Hand surgeon appt this afternoon…..

Sorry about your husband’s accident. It is a sharp slicer, and you need to be extremely careful when using it. A while back, I was using one & took a big chunk out of my thumb when the hard carrot I was slicing slipped. Thought the bleeding would never stop. It was an accident and I blame myself, not the maker of the mandolin slicer. In my case, I wrapped the slicer up in paper and put it in the garbage and bought myself a safe food processor with attachments for slicing and doesn’t allow fingers to come anywhere near the blades.

I agree with Toby..personal responsibility…

This has nothing to do with HSN selling a dangerous or defective product. The issue here was clearly user error.
These products are sharp, and one must pay attention when using them and not be careless. The instructions clearly indicate this as well.
To blame the product and claim HSN should not sell “dangerous” products is silly. If we took this to its logical conclusion, then no one would sell knives (for fear of beig cut), pans (for fear of being burned), cars (for fear of being in a crash), etc.
While I do sympathize here with your husband’s inury, this has nothing to do with HSN.
