Vermeil jewelry

Hi.. I just bought a vermeil ring & was wondering if I can ever recoat the gold if it ever gets chipped off. This is my first vermeil jewelry & I got it because I own a lot of yellow gold jewelry. Any advice/ guidance is appreciated.

I own many (way too many!) vermeil rings, and have only had a couple go a little “off.” They wear beautifully, even those I’ve had for 20 years or so.

Vermeil is slightly thicker than other gold over silver products, so it shouldn’t rub off. But yes, you can take pieces to be replated, but it can get spendy to do so, especially if they have to remove and reset stones.
