Two Heidi Daus Shipments Just Arrived In A Mess
Hi Girls,
I ordered a bunch of things from this last visit because as you all know, it was great. The stuff arrived over two days, two separate shipments and I was really, really upset. About half the stuff arrived in just the black boxes without any gold sleeves. This included the TS as well as several of the new necklaces. The boxes had obviously been turned upside down during shipping and the result was the necklaces had fallen out and were at the bottom of the boxes in a heap. The TS bracelets were still in their respective boxes, but their lids had come off. Ditto for the TS rings and some other pieces. I called HSN when the first box arrived and they said this must have been an anomaly. However, the second box arrived the same way. Has this happened to any of you. Nothing was damaged thankfully, but I think this is no way to ship 300-400 dollar necklaces. Or anything for that matter. If they are doing away with the gold sleeves, then they need to at least put an elasticized band over the box. Feedback anyone?

Hi Lisa and Darlene – I always look for yourfeedback comments. We seem to have the same taste and your comments help me make decisions on items. Thank you so much. Also, thank you for urging HSN to use gold sleeves again on Heidi Daus items. I have received high end pieces, with the lids off plain black boxes and the jewelry rumpled in the bottom of the cardboard shipping box. Or a black box, crushed, in a plastic shipping bag. How depressing! I used to give HSN Heidi Daus pieces as gifts, but the presentation is too cheap looking with crushed black boxes and no gold sleeves.
Used items are used to fill HSN orders all the time, especially backorders. I don’t care how, outraged customer service people act, claiming HSN NEVER re-ships used things – they do! I sent a damaged necklace back and re-ordered the same necklace. Before I returned it, I put a tiny red dot on the inside. Two weeks later, I got back the same item, still damaged, with the red dot. A rude customer service female told me what had happened was impossible.
If one receives a damaged, out-of-stock piece and wants to keep it, is best to send it to Heiddausdesigns for repair – they are wonderful and take care of your repair pronto. I cannot understand why HSN does not value customers who spend thousand of dollars.
I have the Night to Remember necklace and earrings too and LOVE then as does everyone who sees them.
I just received the Nouvearu Dream necklace and earrings today. A gold sleeve was on the earrings but not on the necklace box, which was again open and the $286 necklace loose in the shipping box. The pieces are lovely and, luckily, not damaged. However, I’ll have to find another presentation box as the set is intended as a wedding gift. What is HSN thinking?
Warmly, Sally
Lisa and Darlene – I also find your feedback on HSN items (Heidi) very helpful as you are so articulate and thoughtful in your comments! Please do continue to provide feedback. Thanks!!!

Great news Everyone!!!!!!!! The sleeves are back. Rest assured your treasures will be shipped properly.
I spoke with Heidi and she wanted me to pass on to everyone that the issue has been resolved with HSN and
moving forward we can expect things to be properly packaged. Many thanks to those who offered their input.
Lisa
Awesome! Thank you for doing what you did! I too have been really annoyed by the cheap black boxes (sans sleeves) that dump their high-dollar contents into the HSN box. I’ve even had the inner black boxes arrive all dented and beat up. How can that happen…. unless these were used-and-returned-items-in-an-old box? Thanks again. I am hoping for some art deco pieces from Heidi this time (in a smaller size/scale)… I guess I’m in a minority as I prefer art deco and chinoiserie over critter (except for elephants!) and floral designs.

Hi Girls, I just received the Evening to Remember necklace which I was on wait list for over a month. The total cost was 525.93 including tax/shipping. The box arrived without a sleeve and the necklace was in a ball. I am speechless. I thought HSN had addressed this problem. I am sorry to say it obviously has not.
I just don’t know what to say anymore. The necklace was not damaged but there was no joy upon opening the box. I just stuck it in the closet because I don’t even feel like trying it on and prancing about like I usually do.Lisa
Hi Lisa,
Saw your message last evening but was on my iPad and wanted to wait until this morning when I was on my computer to reply…. My iPad seems to have a mind of it’s own and is ultra-sensitive and I didn’t want to make any typos….
That aside, I can certainly appreciate the disquietude you’ve experienced not once, but on several occasions. The way in which you received your items, i.e., the way HSN neglected to package them properly is totally UNACCEPTABLE and they should be apprised of the condition in which you received a necklace of that cost. Regardless, Lisa, even if it were half the price of which you paid, no one should receive an item in that condition.
I, too, have noticed any time I am ‘waitlisted’ for an item, I truly have to ‘hold my breath’ before I open the box. That is a beautiful necklace and a costly one at that. Being a Heidi collector I know the feeling you receive (because I do as well) when you open one of her treasures. You want to inspect and admire the piece and when something like what happened to you occurs, it totally negates any good feeling you would otherwise have had.
I, too, on occasion, have received things from HSN that were overlooked, obviously returned and not packaged properly. I don’t often buy clothing but have received DG2 jeans that were obviously worn….even had money in the pocket. Also a MarlaWynne top I was waitlisted for (I had 2 of the colors already) and it was an afterthought to purchase a third one, which was waitlisted… Upon receipt, it was not only obviously ‘worn’ but had what appeared to be ‘oil stains’ on it. I ask you ‘who or what kind of person’ would wear an item and then return it…..??!?! Moreover, where is HSN’s quality control on these issues. I’ve called them on many an occasion because of damaged merchandise or items that were’t packaged properly. Recently I received an item I didn’t even order that was in the wrong packaging. This is totally unacceptable.
I have, on occasion, even bypassed ordering from HSN and paid the full price on an item and ordered it directly from Montclair. This way you can be assured it’s coming to you packaged properly and hopefully ‘unused’….
I noticed your review on an item that recently went on clearance… The Imperial Intrigue Necklace and Earrings. I just ordered the set last night. Your review was what catapulted me into pushing the ‘process order’ button. I also ordered the Queen of the Nile necklace and earrings last evening, as well.
Another thing of concern is this: Have you noticed that MANY of the items which were ‘sell-outs’ have now recently re-appeared. This only translates into someone having purchased the items, worn them, enjoyed them, and then ‘sent them back’ so unsuspecting customers receive their seconds. This truly does frost me to no end… Well, sorry to have gone off on a tangent but I think you can fully appreciate and understand where I’m coming from and what I’m trying to say….
Wish I could ‘pick your brain’ on what to do about a purchase I received this week from Montclair…. (I don’t want to display it here for public consumption)… It is regarding the Rockin’ Turtle Necklace/(y-necklace) and bracelet….
Hope to hear from you, Lisa, and hope after further inspection of the necklace it’s ok… If not, you can always ask Montclair to locate one for you.

HI Dotty, I understand your frustration. If all the gals who love HSN’s designers, i.e., Heidi Daus, Joan Boyce, Akkad, or even the less pricy brands would just voice their opinion to whatever the problem may be, perhaps HSN will take note. I, for one, spend thousands of dollars on items and would very much appreciate receiving items that are new, pristine and unused as well as packaged properly.
I believe HSN, once notified of their customers concerns, will do everything to satisfy our concerns.
Darlene
Since I voiced my concerns about this issue on this thread, I was contacted by HSN customer service, which apologized and gave me a $10 Spendable Ka$h credit. I was very pleasantly surprised at this gesture.
I used the credit to order the Heidi necklace with earrings “Classic Edition” item #252-287, and when it arrived (very quickly, I might add) not only did it arrive without the gold sleeve (my reason for posting in the first place), the earrings were rolling around in the box. Fortunately, nothing was damaged. Now, I do not expect a credit every time my merchandise arrives this way. I expect that my merchandise SHOULD NOT arrive this way!! I’m not sure what is going on with HSN – whether it’s in your warehouse or with corporate – but you need to fix this problem – and fast!! Come on, HSN – you are better than this. (*,)
-
This is sad to hear, I hope they can improve the packaging. It just takes away the excitement you feel when opening your package. 🙁
-
Good to hear, my that was fast…. Everyone keep your fingers crossed when they back the truck up at my door. Bless y’all….
-
Thanks so much, Lisa, for the update.
Today, I’m due to receive the Iris Pin from Montclair. Can’t wait. I love her pins, especially in the summer when it’s sometimes too hot to adorn a necklace.
Talk to you soon….

Hi Girls,
I have great news!!!!! I just spoke with Heidi and the issue regarding the sleeves has been resolved. Moving forward, ALL her jewelry will be shipped in sleeves. This temporary situation of removing the sleeves did not come from Heidi but rather was something that HSN did on their own initiative. Now that this has been resolved we can all once again be assured our treasures will arrive in the condition we expect and deserve.

Thanks Darlene… This poor girl, when she posted spending that kinda money and to have gotten the shipment in the way she described just hit a nerve. I mean Im totally team HSN, but they better figure it out. Dot
You are right Dotty. It doesn’t matter how much you spend or where you spend it. Too many retailers spend too little time on ensuring purchases are properly packed so that they arrive home in good condition and make you feel as though you have a present. I was in one store and they plopped a 600.00 outfit in a bag in a ball. It takes very little to wrap clothing in tissue and wrap things nicely. It makes a customer feel that her purchase is special. The queen of packaging was Estee Lauder of course and she was the one who invented beautiful packaging for her goods.
As for Heidi’s pieces, and Joan Boyce and all the other premier designers, it is expected that care and attention be given to the packaging, because no one is going to tolerate their goods arriving in a tangled heap.
I just hope that others who have experienced this problem write about their issue because I am going to forward this to Mindy Grossman. She is a big Heidi fan, and I don’t suppose she would be pleased if her order arrived like mine or the others including yourself did.
Cheers

Hi Lis, Would you believe I did order the Distinguished Opulence pieces and ‘at the very last moment’ cancelled them out. When I did, it didn’t say either of the pieces were no longer available and the following day when I came to my senses and logged onto HSN, i was crestfallen to see that both the earrings and necklace were both a sellout. That’s what prompted me to order the earrings from the source in NJ. Now, I’m ‘hell bent’ on the necklace and won’t rest until my order is a ‘fait accompli. Since it’s SOLD OUT at HSN will have to try to purchase it from Montclair.
Much like yourself, I, too, love art deco. I happened to find Heidi just by accident one evening back in 2009 while channel surfing. I saw this gorgeous creature with dulcet tones talking about this wonderful piece of jewelry and then it was ‘SOLD OUT’….
I continued to watch and ordered one or two things, thinking to myself, ‘can’t be that great if it’s sold on TV’… well, silly me, because now I can honestly say I rarely even wear any of my platinum jewelry or expensive watch because I always opt for one of Heidi’s..
Like you, I’ve hundreds of pieces of her jewelry. I have 7 armoires full, not to mention several drawers filled with her pieces that I still keep in their respective boxes, I have a small pic of each on the box so to remind me which piece it is. But, most of the items are contained in the 7 armoires and the Prestige Jewelry Boxes I’ve purchased on HSN that Colleen advertises. I have between 25-30 of Colleen’s ‘Prestige” jewelry boxes. And, watches…. can’t tell you how many of her timepieces I have. Matter of fact, the only other customer service that is as good as Heidi’s is the company who make her watches, Options in Time… They, too, have a phenomenal customer service department.
You asked me about the Noble Bling. I absolutely like him. He sparkles like crazy and I love his little headband of turquoise and the way she designed the piece. I wasn’t that crazy about the bracelet and did return it, but I absolutely do LOVE the necklace.
One question re: the Scarab drop earrings: Are they heavy, in your opinion? I’m hoping they are not weighty. Usually, I usually will opt for a clip in some of the drop earrings, especially if they appear to be on the heavy side. I’m so happy the Baguette Brilliance Earring was offered to us in a clip. This earring is so very feminine and beautiful. I absolutely love them.
I, too, purchased the TS Bracelet in the Tanzanite, along with matching necklace and ring. I opted for the Iris Garden earrings which were on sale to go with this suite.
I must say that this past TS was truly nice. I rue the fact I didn’t opt for the mango cuff and the mango necklace, however, may be able to still get the necklace thru Montclair since it’s a sellout on HSN.
Can you let me know if, in your opinion, the Scarab Drop earrings are ‘heavy on the earlobes’… not that it matters now, because I’ve already ordered them, but this way I can be prepared for the disappointment of having to return them….
Hope you’re having wonderful weather there in FL…. I live in NJ and the weather is beautiful today. Talk to you soon….
Darlene
I loved the TS this time too. I have to state upfront I am not a floral lover (I know, I’m in the minority), but the floral pattern was subtle. I just love the big stones, and for me the bigger and bolder it is, I love it.
As for the scarab earrings, they are not light. I don’t have a problem with them for two reasons. The hole in my ear sits a bit higher rather than lower and because the weight of the part of the earring that sits against your lobe is weighty, I find it holds. Two thoughts, however, you can either have a jeweler remove the posts and solder on a clip, or he can possibly add an omega backing on it for more support. As for the earrings, they are special. Just love them.
I have done the same thing as you, cancelled out items only to change my mind and then find they are sold out. I think Distinguished Opulence will come back because it is a costly piece and a very bold statement piece. Invariably someone will have ordered it and find it is too big for their frame. Now I just tell hubby I am ordering everything I think I might like and I will send back what I don’t want. I have to tell you, very little goes back. So much so, he is threatening to take me off the payroll and put Heidi and HSN on.
Wow, seven armoires full. I have a walk in closet and I have run out of room. I said to hubby we need to buy a bigger house. He said no. Instead, I am taking over another unused bedroom. What can I say.
Thanks for the input on Noble Bling. I’m going to get him next. I love her critters and the statement pieces and her deco, but most of all, her chinoiserie.
