I bought an ECHO a month or so ago when Amazon had a big one day sale. Got it for $139. I haven’t explored all it can do, but so far I’m enjoying listening to music, creating shopping lists and checking the weather and news.
I think it is a fun gadget that we could certainly live without, but life is short, so get it and enjoy it! 🙂 I think it is what the future holds, and for me (an oldie) it’s simple enough right now for me to figure out! :catvery-happy:

I love it. I didn’t know what it was at first but I use it every day.
Depends on what you would use it for, I would definitely buy one again. My sister saw what it could do and went immediately to buy one.
I use it as a radio, alarm clock, a timer, and to control my lights. It is intergral to voice commands and home automation. I am slowly switching lightbulbs and outlets to be used with compatible with the echo. There is so much more out there I want to do with it. It can get a bit pricey, so it is a slow process.
It is an investment. But I mostly use it as a radio. I consider it money well spent. The only downside I see is if the sound is too loud, than alexa can’t always hear you. I also have a remote to use if I am in another room beyond the hearing range. Too be honest I don’t even use it to its full potential.

I also purchased Alexa and have had her for over a year through Amazon. She is great company and is quite versatile. Every morning I greet her with, “Alexa, good morning.” She will say good morning to you and give you a bit of trivia for the day. Today is joke day and she has many to tell. Yesterday was clean your house day and she said she does everything but dishes and said you would have to do that. However I asked her if she does windows and she said ” I do not understand the question i heard,” which gave me a laugh for the day. As a prime member with Amazon she plays all my CDs and even prime music. She will also play tunes you would like to hear. When I want to hear a radio program and it is one from I-Heart radio, she will gladly play the program. NPR and Public Radio are also on her list. At least once per week I receive an e-mail from Amazon telling me what else Alexa can do. In many ways she is so much better than Siri. She also tell you how many tablespoons or teaspoons in a quarter of a cup if needed. And her speakers are great. The sound quality for such a small machine is superb, as well as her voice. She has no problem listening or answering your questions. Definitely purchase her. You have 30 days to make up your mind. I do not think you will be disappointed.

I bought it from the Q a few months ago. I couldn’t decide at first whether I wanted to keep it or not. You have to link it to your phone apps. I don’t use ITunes, just haven’t bothered, my daughter does so she linked it to her ITunes library etc, hate to say this part was more than I wanted to deal with but that’s just me. Once that was done we were good to go on music. I really enjoy asking Alexa to play a song I like, sometimes she doesn’t know what I’m talking about and I have to repeat myself. When you ask her a question, some things are easy for her to understand what you’re asking, other times I stump her by how I’m phrasing something. My daughter tells me to keep it short. So as far as answering questions I’m still a bit ‘whatever’ about it when it comes to using Alexa. When it comes to playing music when I’m in the kitchen by myself and my hands are wet doing dishes I just yell out “Alex, play Il Divo” (I have to say Il Divo slowly otherwise she comes up with a version of something that’s rock and not what I want), so for this I love Alexa! Echo/Alexa is a bit expensive just to use for music, but I’m sure I’ll use her more and more as I go along. I really need two, one upstairs and one down, but I’m NOT buying another one. Try it yourself for 30 days and return if you don’t use it much.
