Who else finds it overpriced?
I’ll admit most of it isn’t my taste; a little too much, too gaudy.
But price wise, I don’t get it. Semi Precious stones, a lot of sterling.
There are some pretty pieces, but for those who have bought and like it, is the price justified?
-
I was shocked when I first saw her prices, I would not spend that kind of money for cheap pieces, rarities is just a come on, marketing trick, none of her products are rare. Probably made in China.

I love when people like my jewelry or clothes, handbags, etc. But buying the very same item, that would irk me too! ergh!! I only share with best friends and my daughters. I love prasiolite. It’s pale but just… dreamy. Soft and looks good with anything and on any skin tone. It looks so beautiful with amethyst because it is green amethyst. I have the earring you were on waitlist for, they were part of my 40th b-day gift including the GIANT rose de france ring. I have the amazonite drops with prasiolite too, and it looks SO GORGEOUS together!!! Often sparkly gems and opaque stone don’t always compliment each other but those sure do. I don’t have that prasiolite gum drop pendant, but I have a similar one in any, and I wear it and an evil eye almost every day.
Is the ring you are waiting for (twin ring) the one with the square shank? I have that, OMG. SO beautiful. they are two gems made for each other. Rose de France is SO yummy!
I have a rock and mineral shop right near me, and they will cut and polish stones for me, and drill holes, etc. They sell tons of rough, or I can find my own. So I love making my own things as well. I have a guy in India I buy gems from and it’s like xmas when my packages arrive! I love doing it with my daughters. When I was little my favorite thing was to sit on the bed with my Mamma and look at all her jewelry. It was all costume, but it was so fun. I have it all now, plus her pretty strand of pearls. I love those. So, someday my girls will get all of my stuff. 🙂
I can spend hours looking at gems and jewelry… and I do, haaa… Hubby has finally learned that just because he sees me looking at loose gems or jewelry online doen’t mean I am buying it! Haaa. I just love looking. i love that rock shop I go to… it looks like a junk store but they have EVERYTHING. Last time I was there they were closing and as I left, some turquoise caught my eye. I swear it’s Imperial, so I need to get back ASAP and look at it. It’s for sure from Kingman. My natural history museum has a wonderful “hall of gems” and I can sit in there alllll day.
I love mixing gold too. Years ago I started buying 22K from India. Gold has since,,, doubled at least. But it looks great with white gold, silver… sparkly or opaque gems. Perhaps my favorite piece from Carol are what I call my Bollywood earrings, they are teardrops, rose vermeil and the mose gorgeous sapphires (big pink ones drop in the center) and they are just stunning.
I can’t wait for her upcoming TS. Her last collection is just amazing.
Let me know how you like the prasiolite!
OMG..Hitsville, where DO you LIVE. I am in the KC area and I know of no such places around. Where is my Yellow Pages. I am a gemstone nutcase like you. I buy gemstones, just to look at them, and the rarer the better. Some I make into jewelry, but not all. I have dozens of pendants I have made and even more rings..Yet, I have one neck or two or three useful fingers at one time. I just set a HUGE Smoky Quartz in a SS ring and it is gorgeous, and I don’t even really like Smoky..LOL..I have blue spinel, and a red one on the way. I would die for a gemstore place near me..Can I rent out your garage. Missouri is very cold now;-); =d>

Merry Christmas Hitsville =)
Hope you enjoyed the C. Brodie shows on Saturdays. I was able to watch the earlier show, but wasn’t home for the later show. I like to watch the presentations b/c everything looks so different than in the still shots and typically what I love doesn’t make it to a video to rewatch, like her elaborate more expensive pieces.
No video to watch of the choice of blue or champaign diamond earring, necklace or ring. Did you by any chance see a quick shot of any of them in the later show?
I’m on wait list for the ring, but I am not holding my breath. I swear I have been on wait list over and over for her rose cut diamond ring band for 8 months. The ring has to be sold out right? Yet, I hurry and order one on wait list every time it comes off my list after 45 days and it is able to be wait listed again.
The twin ring and the briolette prasiolite earrings both came of of my wait list order and someone else snagged them immediately before I could again. I HATE that. I wish that Customer Service would ask if I want to renew the wait list order again or something. But seriously, after all of this time, do wait list orderes EVER get filled?
I’m really really disappointed about the briolette prasiolite and rose de france earrings. Do you think if I messaged Carol it could possibly help? I have them in the rutalated quartz and the briolette is my favorite.Carol must read these forums too, not just her Blog. I noticed she mentioned about a design that another jeweler used that was similar to a piece she designed and she said it was fine that great jewelers think alike. Which is probably true, but I think it was her way of addressing the thread on here about the earrings that she designed being copied from another line at Saks.
I will also mention that she went from pearls not being “her thing” to designing with them more now. I’ve been to tahiti several times as well. One of my most favorite places in the world! There is a bar/restaurant called Bloody Mary’s in Bora Bora and we have seen and even met some really famous people there.
We’ve been to all of the islands in tahiti, even the small one’s and any fine jewelry store will take the time to go over pearls with you. It would be difficult to be taken there, since most people that go to Tahiti know they are coming home with at least one perfectly round 20 mm black pearl with the best lustre that they can afford.
The reviews are favorable so far on the pearl necklace. It looked really pretty but I wish she would put an extra link to make the necklaces 14″. It has been asked often enough. It took me turning 40 just a few years ago to realize how much I love strands of pearls.
I had to get the jeweler to put a link on the prasiolite and green diamond 10K necklace to a little under 13″ for it to fit in the hollow on my neck. Would have liked the rose de france one with the pink saphires.
BTW, I love the prasiolite and would definitley order another piece. I’d like a LARGE chunk. I missed the two rings that fit that bill. The other twin ring she has right now are in the larger sizes and I know I would have to go down at least one whole size in that.I look at jewelry all of the time, be it Department stores (Neiman’s, Saks….), Independently owned, magazines, on~line and Carol Brodie definitley has great ideas.
The deco necklace was overpriced at $450 in sterling, but I just love the design so it is staying in my collection. It twinkles so nicely on bare skin too. I can’t decide if I want to get that shortened. It would limit my options but with the toilet chain, you really can’t put an extender on it and it doesn’t slide on and off the chain. What did you think of the cross necklace? I like it and was glad the first review said that it wasn’t a thin piece. That was my first thought. The sapphire one would look good with those long blue chalcedony and sapphire earrings from about a year ago, don’t you think? I’m thinking about it and that extra flex pay makes it too easy. I have spent so much on myself this month for Christmas. I really need to take it easy. I bought this little black caviar chanel purse, like a wrislet, that I am still silly over. It is a drawstring at the top and a mushroom bottom with the double handle traditional short chain straps. I can’t wait to sport that at parties this week~end. I’m actually going to a few parties that aren’t popcorn parties with my girls =)
These were my favorites: Cross Necklace, blue and champaign diamond earrings, ballerina ring.
My Lusts: prasiolite and rose de france briolette 10k earrings, Art deco earrings, and Carol mentioned that she was coming out with a matching ring for the sun goddess earrings. You don’t think it was the sunflower ring, do you? I don’t really care for whimsical.
Hitsville, you make your own jewelry. You must have some amazing pieces since they can be custom made for you by you. I think i’m jealous lol
The jewelry shop sounds like my kind of place, not all marked up by some special ambiance, just great stones at hopefully fair prices.
Did you go back for the turquoise? -

Hitsville,
You sure DO own a lot of CB pieces! I could talk jewels all day. Have been fascinated with rocks and minerals about as long as I can remember. While my friends would all be out shopping for clothes, I used to love to take the bus to The Smithsonian to look at all of the beautiful gems. I’d end the day with some garnite, ametrine, small raw ruby, piece of amber…. and dream of what I would buy next time for $10 to $20 lol I still have them all. Now my girls love when I bring them all out all tell stories about them all (except the old love stories attached with many of them) *sigh* takes me back to such simple times.
Anyway, you would be the one to ask judging by your list. Do you love the prasiolite? I have never seen that gem yet and I know Carol uses it often. I was on wait list twice for the 10K prasiolite briolette and rose de france dangle earrings, but that never worked out either. I really would have liked to have tried those, but evidently there were no extras.
UPS may have not delivered today. Therefore, Monday for certain the prasiolite pendant necklace will be here in 10K. Do you happen to have that? If it is really really pale, the green diamonds should tone it up a bit.
I’ve been on wait list (still am) for the 10K twin ring with the huge long square cut back to back slices of prasiolite and rose de france. Another stone I have never held in person.I really recommend that deco ring with the all champaign diamonds still available. It is a better value than the latest one with the champaign diamonds and the tiny bit of white diamonds in the last show IMO not that I still wouldn’t have liked to have had it too). It is almost 1/2 carat more diamonds for $40 less. Plus, it has the larger stone being a 2.9 mm in the center. Tons of sparkle!
I have many designers who I love their 18K pieces and one that offers all 22K solid gold. It has been nice to add some gems of Carol Brodie into the mix. Only JUST ordered ONE vermeil piece and that was the carved turquoise earrings that are super! For the discounted price if I get a few years out of them, I will be thrilled. They look great with long hair.
Thanks for posting HITSVILLE.

would they actually buy the same ring as you?
YES!
The wife of a guy that my husband occasionally golfs with asked me where I got this ring that I wear all of the time. I love it. I was going to let her think it was H. Stern lol but, I told her it was Anita Ko and darn if she didn’t buy the same ring! Call me caddy, but I’m very protective of my “fripperies” lol
Same with the “spike” jewelry and even some Yurman..yawn..I’ve not seen anyone in that zebra ring yet. Hurry and sell out already =) -

why don’t you want your friends to know, would they actually buy the same ring as you?
-
SouthernGirl2, both of those rings look beautiful and I read your reviews. I do have the Art Deco ring. That ring is how I found Carol Brodie. I saw it advertised in In~Style magazine when I was getting my highlights and I had to have it.
Same holds true for the Pade Vavra Cuffs that I ordered, found them advertised in a magazine and they are how I came to start shopping at HSN.
The Art Deco ring sparkles like crazy. I was on wait list for the 10K champaign diamond ring three times in a row, to no avail. I hope that Carol does Earrings again in that style, I missed those as well.
That said, that is the ring that I wanted. The new deco ring in brown diamonds and the sprinkle of white with it. I just haven’t won a coupon and couldn’t justify buying it w/out the 15% off that I knew many many others were getting.
If anyone has an extra 15%, please send it my way. I can’t seem to win one.
Instead I bought the old deco necklace that has been for sale for quite awhile on clearance. I’ve looked on line for something similar, but didn’t like the design as much as her’s. A fine jewelry store has an old estate one for sale in platinum VERY similar and I’ve tried it on and admired it.I also decided to order the almost 10 carat prasiolite and green diamond two strand necklace in 10K clearanced.
I have many favorite jewelry designers and brouse Trunk Shows at Neiman’s and Bergdorf’s for their unique all 18K gold pieces. For the deco rings, I love Carol’s.
I’m surprised more people don’t post their favorite pieces on here, I would love to hear about them. I know CB has a huge following that helps in her success. I suppose most people Facebook with her instead. I would love to, but I don’t want my friend’s to know where I bought the blue diamond zebra cigar band ring. They would figure it out when they posted on my page lol

I have over 50 of her pieces, and every one is a hit. I love, love, love them all! They are worth every penny.
-
Have you all seen the new pieces from her Trunk Show? Wow! I see a ring and a pair of earrings that I would love to have from her regular collection this time, but I am going to need a seriously good coupon. Some good looking stuff there, but I have to behave since I just bought those two “Catherine the Great” Brodie rings and now I need to pay for ’em. =8> Especially like the black and white calla lily ring…. and those deco “diamond tattooo” Shield rings are pretty hot, too. One day I’m going to get me one of those rings…
-
I have her Crown Spring dangle earrings in 14K white gold and I love them. I can’t believe how well they match and that color, oh my, that beautiful color.
Also, the big plain oval Crown Spring ring in 14K, beautiful. The Sun Goddess Earrings I have in all three stones and I wear them a lot. A nice change for me as I always wear big gold hoops.
In her first collection when she did the jade drop earrings for $100 in gold, I have definitely got my money’s worth. I have them in the green and lavender.
I had a little trouble with the wood drusy rings, but the necklaces I get compliments on all of the time. Definitely, my Autumn/Winter pieces. Not inversment pieces with the drusy, but fun, trendy, sparkly and organic at the same time.
Everything mentioned above, I bought clearanced.
Have you all seen the new pieces from her Trunk Show? Wow! I see a ring and a pair of earrings that I would love to have from her regular collection this time, but I am going to need a seriously good coupon. Will try to catch the show on Saturday. Her earrings always look better when presented and bigger to me. She is definitely a great sales person.

OMG, am in so much trouble! When 967-717 came up, I loved it and I had a good coupon and I ordered it. Then the amethyst pear-shaped version came up, and I decided to order that one instead, since I have a serious amethyst jones going on…. thinking that I would send the honey-colored one back and keep the amethyst one.
The only problem is that 967-717 is so knock-down, drop-dead gorgeous I am not sure I am going to be able to give it up, no matter how I feel about the amethyst version. There are few pieces of jewelry you buy that actually are better than you were expecting when you actually see them, but the 967-717 “honey” quartz is one of them, I promise you.
It looks like it is straight out of your wealthy great-grandmother’s jewelry box , and that generation after generation of female heirs have been fighting for ownership ever since. I keep thinking “but if you send that back you are gonna waste that great coupon.” Oh dear Lord I am in trouble LOLL
-
I too own a few of her pieces but, the sterling in all but one little ring that was on clearance. My favs are the amethyst and blue topaz dangle earrings and the triple stone ring that coordinated with it. The clearance piece was a tanzanite cabochon with vermeil but it was matte and textured so, it looked fine. Oh, I also have her rutilated quartz, white agate and tanz, and her sterling and moonstone rings!wear the big rings more in the summer for some reason?!?
Even silver prices are going up! I make jewelry by hand and the sterling prices from the supply catalogs has just about doubled.I do use vermeil in my pieces~but what a lot of people don’t know is that there are different qualities of vermeil! Some is machine dipped and some is hand done over sterling….that is what I buy and use.
Stephanie has beautiful and unusual [pieces. I wish she could bring her pricing down a bit. She is a talented designer and very knowledgeable; but not working at H.W, anymore.

Brodie’s pieces are best enjoyed on sale; and a good coupon helps, too. I have never bought a piece of hers full price with no coupon, because I do feel there is some serious overpricing going on with much of her stuff.
Some of her pieces do have me scratching my head a bit, such as that ginormous facted-moonstone ring: it is the size of Dallas TX – and who the heck facets moonstone?! Great way to wreck a lovely cabochon, if you ask me.
With that said, the pieces I have I do enjoy a lot. Am currently awaiting the new “Catherine the Great” amethyst ring, with the pear-shaped stone. I have never seen a ring like that before, and a few seconds into the presentation I was madly digging up a coupon number. Luckily I had a really good one stashed.
