New bracelet trend
I am wondering how everyone feels about the new bracelet trend, where stones only go one third to one half way around the wrist with the remainder being a pull chain design. I personally do not like it because I do not want chain dangling in my food or catching on things. I know it is easier to size a bracelet that way but do the chains really hold where you put them? Do you constantly have to fix them?
I suspect this trend was a way to cut costs while still charging the old price. I would rather pay a bit more and have a full bracelet but that is just me. Weigh in. I really want to know if I am just being an old fogey. HA!

These are really nice bracelets. They’re something “different.” My only concern here is that my wrist is so small (6-3/4-7/1/4) I will have more than enough metal hanging after adjustment that and that would annoy me. If they came in sizes that would be great. I think they are one size fits all (thus the adjustable spring).

CHARLIEK, it’s funny you should ask this question. I wore one today. The pros: the stones stayed on the top and never moved, I never once felt the chain dangling. The one con: I didn’t find it totally easy to push the little slider up to tighten the bracelet. At one point I even used my teeth to hold one end. It never moved after that. That being said, I would definitely buy more and I already have about 6 of them. Cuffs are my favorite and hinged cuffs I love but I do have some that turn.

This isn’t a new design even though it’s the trend. About 15 years ago, I purchased the design at Nordstrom; it was called a “Bubble” bracelet because the diamonds were bezel set and of different sizes as well as not being perfect aligned. It’s a series of 12, the chain is white gold with a white gold ball that pulls and secures the chain. I LOVE it. That said, I love and wear charm bracelets all the time; it’s what “I wear”. Some women always wear a pin; some wear the same scent; some wear a hat; I wear charm bracelets.I know many who can’t stand them because of the charm or anything hanging down and making noise or hitting their desk, etc. Doesn’t bother me and I’ve never had an issue with it.
It’s the only one I own and it’s enough for me, lol. I think bangles are far more classic and you can layer them easily; this style….looks a bit odd layered even though I do it because, well …..DIAMONDS, lololol.

I don’t think I like the dangling portion. I can wear a size 7 bracelet nicely and it still has a little drape. The style you refer to is designed for many sizes and the dangling part at the bottom would annoy me. I like link style, cuffs and bangles.

then don’t buy those “trends”…simple solution.

I really like the look of these bracelets, however, until they are made stronger and hold better I will not be purchasing one anytime soon.

I’m 31 and really like the look of this trend. My wrists are 5.5 inches, so I like the adjustable factor but also wonder if I would have too much dangling.

Glad you ladies had no problem with the new pull chain design. My first one was apart in the see through plastic bag and I wondered why it wasn’t caught upon inspection by Quality Control. I ordered a second one and that one couldn’t be sized. In other words the pull chain didn’t work at all and It was so delicate that I felt tugging would break the entire thing, so I returned it. I never bothered with a third one. Just decided it wasn’t worth all the fuss and muss. I love the design but feel the pull chain should be made stronger depending upon the size and weight of the item.

@CHARLIE, I think I am with you on this one. Maybe once you have one and experience it will find you like it. I am more of a cuff person. I have had to remove bracelets when in meetings or trying to write.

I have one of these bracelets and really like it. They are great every day bracelets and haven’t had any problems with it. I don’t think this style is going to replace tennis style (stones all the way around) bracelets, just something different to layer or wear alone. I am surprised how much I like the slide adjuster/closure.

I have a few of this type of bracelet and I like them. So far no problems, they stay in place and are definitely easy to put on. :cathappy:

Do you mean like this VW bracelet? #485-113If so, then I have to say I love that style. But, I do happen to love that extra dangling chain look.
Of course, I wouldn’t want it on all my bracelets, but I wouldn’t mind it on a few.
