JM OVER THE DOOR JEWELRY CHEST
Did see it a few times. Just wanted to know how well it works?
Is it very heavy? Also how is the compartments?
I have a amoire in my large closet. Also various jewelry boxes, etc.
Need to get more organized.
Need some feedback from anyone that does have it?

I have had the Over the door jewelry amoire since January..Around March the inside bar that holds the necklaces fell off..I called HSN they told me to call Mirrortec the manufacturer ..These people gave me no satisfaction at all, very rude and never return your calls. I am very annoyed with this product and its on flex pay so I am paying for something that is broken. I am once again glueing this piece on as I have done this 3 times already. I am sure it will fall off again..Someone should really compensate me for this purchase. It is not made well and initially you could see it was put on with some kind of tacky glue which surely does not hold. This is the bar that is under the inside mirror, I had initially rated this item on HSN with good reviews when I first received it and sorry that I did that…Poor quality..a waste of money…$$$$$$

Has anyone tried (or considered) to mount this semi-flush to interior wall between studs? I saw a model similar to this made for this purpose — solid unfinished oak…for about 2 bills more. Messy but doable IMO.

I store my Heidi JEWELS in the boxes they come in. Heidi has suggested it in the past. =8> =8> Yeah, but….. having a few hundred of her pieces doesn’t bode well with respect to storing them in their original boxes especially when you’re trying to assemble an outfit and frantically looking for the right piece. Believe me, I know.
from whence I speak……. I’m OCD ‘to a fault’ with respect to organization. I even had photo’s of all the pieces affixed to their respective boxes, (just like I do with shoes). I decided to simply store my pieces in either an armoire, jewelry box, curio, etc.Heidi knows us gals better and doesn’t expect us to store each piece in a box. Her collectors have more than a few pieces and it would be INSANE to keep them in their boxes and not have them at our immediate disposal….. We gals have to know what we’re looking for when we’re getting ready to go out…..
I agree.. I have several hundred pieces of heidi alone not counting my other pieces.. I love the over the door jewelry boxes. i have 3 of the large ones (2 are my “heidi” only boxes) they work great..

I know I should better “organize ” my jewelry. I keep my shoes and clothing by color.
I keep meaning to get a humongous jewelry cabinet(or two).
I am always putting it off. A friend of mine has two huge stand up jewelery cabinets full. -
I have several hundred, most are in the boxes. I label them. I have a jewelry box but nothing to amount to much in it.

I always put a piece of chalk in my jewelry box(es) to absorb the excess moisture. It definitely helps reduce tarnishing. They also sell the anti-tarnish cloth at the crafts store, although its effectiveness diminishes over time. As long as you replace it every 6 months or so, you should be okay. Hope this helps! Hi Debs…
Fancy meeting you here…. (lol) I never thought about the ‘chalk’ absorbing moisture, but thanks for the idea. Will keep that in mind.

I have the over-the-door jewelry armoire, and overall I like it very much. There are two BIG drawbacks, however. One is that the magnets that are supposed to keep the door to the armoire closed are so small that when I close the door, the armoire door flies open. I’m going to Michaels to see if I can get some larger, but still thin, magnets to replace them. The second big drawback is that there is a second mirror inside. The outside door is a mirror, so I think this is excessive, and the space could have been used for more of the bracelet wells. I have it in white. I needed another armoire, but didn’t have room in my bedroom for another one. I thought this would be a good compromise, and I was right. If Joy would fix those two things, I think it would be a great product. With the way it is now, I think it is a good product. HTH. :-” I agree with you Tillie re: the interior mirror. I, too, feel that the space allotted for the mirror could have been put to better use.
BTW, my husband did affix new magnets to both armoires and then now only open when I want them to…. Case solved….
