Jay King’s Jewelry all made in China
I use to love Jay’s jewelry, not anymore. It is all made in China. There are a couple of earrings that are made in the USA. I really am not happy about it.
It is a shame that he is doing this now.
I guess that is why it is cheaper.
I lived in Santa Fe and I must tell you that the beautiful jewelry is all made right there.

I agree. I used to love his line. The last time I ordered a bracelet it was so flimsy I sent it back. I have never purchased another piece nor do I want to! Sorry Jay, but sending to China has backfired. I still love YOU!

This topic has been discussed since 2008 and not much has changed I gather. So what’s the solution? I’ve purchased Native American jewelry for years and shopped for it all over the Southwest and in pawn shops but it can be expensive, very expensive at times. You do get what you pay for and there can be a huge difference in quality and design. Educate yourself & know what you’re buying. It’s only my opinion but all that really matters is that you are happy with what you are buying and that you know what you’re getting.

I wish I could visit the Southwest with lots of money & get a chance to buy all the beautiful jewelry you all have access to! You all are so lucky. I am East Coast so I can’t even imagine the beautiful things you see and have access to buy! You are blessed 🙂

This is insanity, it needs to stop. These people are stuffing their bellies and getting fat and fatter and do nothing to help our economy. It just makes me ill. Stop buying it. Buy less and buy something made here.

Cost always is a factor for any business, which is why things are often made outside the U.S.
I’m happy with Jay’s jewelry.

I look at flea markets for collectible Native American jewerly. I found a huge turqouise squasch blassom necklace for only 450.00 which was an amazing deal. I dont shop for jewerly on hsn that much due to the fact that almost everything new is nowdays made in China. The older pices I pick at markets are heavier and amazing quality and flea marekting is so much fun. Look at Pawn places too. -
WOW! That is so good to know. THank you for letting us know.

I know I have heard Jay say his pieces are made in New Mexico

Now this is a very old thread and unfortunately nothing has changed. This is why I buy Chaco Canyon instead of Jay King most of the time…

- People blame uUSA taxes ? blame the greed of American bustnesses and people who want the upscale American lifestyle but don’t want to pa American workers union wages Blame hsn. a filthy rich company tat can make higher profits outsourcing. King works for HSN. They call the shots and pull the strings. tT “patriots” on this board are hypocrites. They trash Jay King but love the bargain prices. Always someone ELSE to blame for greed. Look in the mirror. The people who don’t want to pay taxes are the first to scream if a pothole is in their street.

Look on the band of most any ring you buy on TV, silver or gold; they will say “china” on them.
For silver I wish they would present more from Taxco. I agree that Jay King’s pieces except for the newer pendants sets are kinda boring. -
The last few pieces of Jay King I have bought seemed “off” to me. They were much lighter than the older ones I have and I notice that the silver is thinner. The green turquoise/cross and pink sterlite (sp) that I got on his last show are horrid. So, I am sending them back. Now that I know that they are made in China my disappointment is answered.
I will no longer watch or buy. So sad as he was an innovator for a time.
I agree that his designs are pretty much cookie-cutter and lack that wow factor that used to be there. No more. -
Dear All,
Chaco Canyon line of jewelry belongs to Jay King. He started on HSN with this line and it is all made in the USA and most of it on the Indian Reservations. The young woman who speaks for the line is his niece. How do I know. Jay King told me himself.
As much as I like Jay King I have to agree that his earlier work was wonderful. I did buy a few things from him earlier, but never got one of the beautiful silver braclets that were always hand made and not made in any large quantity. His quality has not remained the same since he went to China. But I wish him well. He has stores that he opened and I bet you would find gallery pieces there. We were lucky to have him present such beauty yrs ago. So I hope you scooped them up.
Thanks

TexasGal I sure wish I were not having a “senior moment” and could recall exactly what was said. I do know I purchased a higher end bracelet from Chaco because of a statement made regarding the stone and Jay King. If the bracelet had not sold out, I could view the video.
Hopefully someone else will drop by that has heard similar statements as now I am going n u t s trying to remember.](*,)
