Why so many mistakes versus QVC?
I just re-signed up as a customer with HSN after years away. I’ve faithfully watched QVC for years. Today I’ve already seen the guest showing the Today’s Special green light strand in her hands with every other LED not lit up (damanged or defective), and the current host has been showing the tree sheet set with the blue sheets instead of the red sheet set that they come with (mixed up). Also, I saw them selling Christmas cookies today that the guest said are only shelf-stable for 4 months. Turns out on the website I learned that the cookies are not shipped until mid-Dec. Even the graphics and descriptions on their website are more difficult to read and less user-friendly than QVC.
It just seems that this channel is much less well trained than the hosts and guests on QVC, even though they’ve been on air 9 years longer. Does anyone else notice the same?

No I don’t notice, bc I watch more HSN than QVC. Even though HSN comes in blurry on my cable network, it catches my attention more than QVC, which comes in all crisp!

Since you are talking about the mistakes made by the two vendors, I will speak to that first. I have notified HSN on more than one ocassion about mistakes in spelling of some gemstones and clothing items. It happens, I suppose. Now, if it happens more often than not, it will definitely be a cause for concern for me. Right now, that is not the case as I don’t buy nearly enough from either site for this to be a worry.
I don’t like “cliques” so I will share my personal opinions and experiences about this or any site I choose to use (whether some find it distasteful or not). I can’t control how people feel. I can simply give my perspective: Mistakes do come up from time to time, but at this time it’s not a major worry for me.

HI and welcome Carolinaking and welcome to the HSN forums. I shop at both venues equally and have no special loyalty to any as I seek what I am looking for wherever and look for the best price point at whoever has that best price option. (savy shopping I guess LOL) I guess I am trying to say I dont subscribe to the “Us vs Them” mentality so I will try to give a truly unbiased opinion. I find mistakes, errors and such at all of them (Evine, HSN, QVC) and noone is perfect so I make allowances for that as I am far from perfect. I also find some things better at HSN, some things better at QVC and other things I am looking for at Evine. I do find customer service and price points better here at HSN. Today I had a lovely chat with a CS agent as I was looking to buy a blue CJ by Cookie Johnson Jogger and my size was 40 bucks more then another size offered for same clearence item! CS was so nice and is looking into it and I hope the price gouge will be fixed. I find QVC hosts nice but the prices are climbing out of reach for most clothing. I recently left QVC forums because the forum members tend to be horrid and brutal to each other. I have never seen so much hurtful childish comments from grown women and frankly I was appalled and alittle off putted by that. Evine has good skincare and I buy when the Invicta Marathons are not boring me. LOL So there you have it…..good, bad and all but all in all I find HSN forums relaxing and the women much more caring and respectful. I think by overtly comparing HSN to QVC you may have invited some unintended conflict? That is more liken to QVC forums and the direction those forums take on a daily basis. Best to you and obviously you can shop where you like. I think if you give HSN a chance you will find CS, forums and prices quite inticing. Welcome again…..Micha

HSN versus QVC ???? Well , all the host are human , errors are made, errors are made by both venues.
HSN handles problems in a MUCH better customer friendly manner.
OH, OH OH , I almost forgot welcome to the wonderful HSN community Carolinaking
We are savvy shoppers here at HSN and we love this place

HSN is full of mistakes from the hosts giving incorrect information and orders taking forever to ship. I’ve received 5 orders in the last 60 days that I had to return because they were defective items with very noticeable defects. If the employees would pay attention when they ship items out, this wouldn’t have happened. I haven’t had any problems with QVC and their hosts are far superior to the amateur hosts on HSN who are contantly repeating themselves over and over.

I actually quit shopping with QVC years ago. They are not as friendly as HSN, not as organized or even carry the merchandise I want. HSN is so much better.
-
Actually, I find just the opposite to be true. QVC needs some major help, especially a redesign of their website. I could go on but, I guess we are lucky we have so many choices in digital retailing.

Well stick around, Bill Greene to the rescue! :womanhappy::womanhappy:

“The new friend” sounds a lot like the unhappy people from the Holiday forums at the Q. So she’s spreading the cheer, LOL.

Of course the Christmas foods won’t be shipped till the holiday season.Thats what pre-order means.I doubt anyone wants to order their turkey now to be eaten in Nov or Dec for example.Same with cookies, etc.
Sounds like you just need to keep shopping QVC..Not sure why one feels its okay to come to a site only to critize it..I always read complaint sites and you will find just as many complaints regarding QVC as HSN along with other stores on those sites. So I always take posts such as this as just one persons opinion which it is.
Also check the site for detailed descriptions before ordering so there is less confusion as to exactly what you are buying.
