On air and show suggestions
Post your ideas for On Air and TV Show suggestions here:

Please tell the set crew to keep their voices down and not talk when the show is live and the host is presenting something. There’s nothing worse than hearing background talking when one is trying to listen to a product presentation. It’s extremely annoying to viewers and I’m sure it is to the hosts as well.

Thank you for adding this category. I think it speaks well of HSN wanting to please its customers.
As you have seen on many previous post we would like to see less of Joy. She is very annoying and turns many people off. I find when she is on I will not view the program regardless of what she is presenting. -
When presenting jewelry the hosts used to always measure the jewelry. This gave the viewer an idea of the size of the ring, bracelet, etc. Please have them resume measuring each piece.
The hosts should breakdown the carat weight of the stones. If there is a center stone surrounded by other stones, the hosts should tell us what the carat weight of the center stone is and then the carat weight of the surrounding stones.

HSN, As you’ve already read from me and numerous other posts, please let us watch on hsn.com, the last week’s previously aired shows in the hour format. Thanks again.

Cut back on high pressure sales tactics. We as consumers are already tuned in, looking to order items. A host should be knowledgeable, and pay more attention to detail. Give us better description and be honist to what we are actually buying.
One example: hand bags are often presented as leather only to find out later that they are plastic.
I do not like to be misslead, or lied to with the idea that I can always send it back.
also, fire Shannon Smith…Please, do it now..

I would like to see more of the inside of a handbag when the host is showing it to the camera.

Please have the hosts show the entire ring they present so we can see if perhaps we need to size up. Sometimes rings run small in size, like some of Nicky Butler’s (love him!) & it’s a drag to have to send ’em back especially if the item has sold out. Also Please, Pleeeez,[-o< keep “decaff” in the green room when Ms.Joy is on…My nerves & I thank you kindly!

1. Better camera work: More focus on the item for sale and model; less focus on host.
2. Measure the jewelry. Specifically, I want to know how long the necklaces are.
3. Teach hosts not to speak when guests are speaking.
4. Show garment details on some color other than black.
5. MEASUREMENTS OF THE GARMENTS, PLEASE.
6. Show front, back and clasps of all jewelry -
Please have the hosts give the measurements for clothing on air.
-
Please sell a Victorian line in a house hold decorating line. LOVE Victorian design for my house. Anyone out there know where I could find more Victorian things btw?[-o< Any ideas very appreciated.
PLEASE keep Shannon just where she is as a great HSN host.
– thanx -
IDENTIFY MATERIALS OF PRODUCTS ON AIR AND ON WEBSITE — FULL DISCLOSURE! Agree with other posts re hosts need to identify the materials of the products they are showing — especially handbags. I will not buy any handbags that are wholly or partially plastic leather (“pleather”) and have been disappointed to have to send bags back when I am surprised to find this cheaper construction. Too often the hosts are so enamored of the styles that they forget to identify materials and measurements and organizational features of each handbag. Consequently, I’m sure HSN experiences more product returns due to failure to fully disclose these details on air and on their website. Clothing, also, should be fully described.

I’ve seen enough of Joy to last me a lifetime. Please taper off on the “JOY.”

I absolutly HATE it when they do not show the inside of the handbags. They will just open it up and let you peak on the inside. That shows me NOTHING. I want to actually see the inside to see how many pockets—If there is a divider in it etc. To many times have I NOT bought a bag because they did not show the inside correctly. If I dont like what I see when I see it I will instantly NOT buy it.
Also shannon annoys the heck out of me. Her laugh is over the top. She laughs at EVERYTHING. Things that are not funny what so ever. Her sales tactics are terrible. So.. she owns 5 or 6 of everything that she sells. She has to live in a warehouse.
Listening to Joy Mangano is like nails on a chalk board. She NEVER shuts up. NEVER! All we ever see on the station now is her crap products. 99 percent of them are junk. She should have stayed with just the hangers.
Also I am getting a little bit sick of the Todays specials being the same almost every month. How many Green Pan todays special do we need? Same with huggable hangers. We would like more VARIETY of todays specials please.
HSN is begining to get very predictable. I only need so many hangers etc.
I LOVE the Paula Abdul line.

The hosts should breakdown the carat weight of the stones. If there is a center stone surrounded by other stones, the hosts should tell us what the carat weight of the center stone is and then the carat weight of the surrounding stones. Absolutely!! And also, specifically when airing diamonds PLEASE give us the color and clarity. I absolutely will not buy a diamond without knowing at least those 2 C’s.
Handbags – When showing handbags, show them with a variety of clothing styles including heavy overcoats. Some handbags may have too short of a handle drop to wear on your shoulder if you’re wearing an overcoat.
Shoes – Please show the shoes in motion.

Please, please, please have the host describe the color of a fashion item. TV monitors are not accurate and it could spare some returns if one is told what the true color is. For instance, is it a blue-red. orange-red, watermelon-red, etc. Is it a navy, cobalt or wedgewood blue; is the yellow a soft banana shade or a bright lemon — the monitor in my home may read something entirely different than what the true shade is. Also, please measure on air the height of a heel with a ruler. The written descriptions are often wrong and shoes are expensive to return. Thanks so much for listening…
