Thanks, mine should be here Monday and this will be a big help since I never used a Pressure Cooker before.=h2>

You are welcome. I used to have the stovetop pressure cooker and I had a hard time with this one. I saw every presentation or I wouldn’t have figured it out from the booklets that came with it.
The person writing and proofreading the manuals needs to do it step-by-step for beginners and advanced cooks. They may know how to use their products but WE don’t.
I look forward to other comments on the product also.
I did post a review but gave it 4 stars on the manual and lack of cooking time sent. -
I agree. It took me about 30 minutes to figure this one out. I even had to call my husband to come help…away from the tv. I really am looking forward to this, I hope it is a keeper. I made cabbage rolls. It was just using my instincts to cook this. I put my tomatoe sauce on the bottom and my cabbage rolls on top. They are cooking now. I set it for 20 mins.. I will write back to let you know how they turn out after dinner.

Kochise, cabbage rolls sounds good. I hope yours turn/turned out well. I googled “cabbage rolls pressure cooker.” Most recipes involve softening the leaves in boiling water for about 5 minutes and cooking the assembled cabbage rolls in the PC for around 8 minutes. Hopefully the 20 minutes didn’t overdo it. I’ve never made those before…but I think I’d like them. 🙂

20 minutes a little too long everyone. I put in a second batch..I had made alot and set the timer for 12 minutes..well see..i am going to post my recipe on the recipe section…Its a old timers cabbage roll recipe I got from an old women at church. They were wonderful cooks and I havent found a recipe to compare with it yet.

I finally figured this out this without proper directions, I hope this will help all of you. I think Bon Appetit should mail “every one of us” an updated use and care guide with a detailed cooking time manual. They need to update what was sent to us. 1- Plug in the Pressure Cooker
2- Load the ingredients per recipe you are making making sure to only do 3/4 full.
3- Put the lid on the Pressure Cooker correctly (Make sure the OPEN and CLOSE Writing goes to the BACK side of the cooker and the WHITE MARK ON THE FRONT OF LID lines up.)
4- Snap the plastic attachment (to catch the steam)- on the back center of the cooker.
5- To set the cooking time you have to “Set the 003 time on the screen “back to zero” first!” 2:00 will come up on the screen. Use the + or – signs to add or subtract the time you need for the recipe.
6- When time is set then PRESS START
7- The counter will count down the time “AFTER the pressure builds” up in the cooker.
8- The pressure sound will only be heard for about a minute and is very quiet while cooking. The smell of your food cooking starts rather quickly.
9- For the correct cooking times check out online or get the Great Food Fast cookbook by Bob Warden as it very informative as well as explains the recipes and cooking times that are for all pressure cookers.I was frustrated myself and I can usually figure how to work appliances without trial and error.
Hope this helps all of you. That is nice summary, but most of the steps are in the manual that comes with it.
As far as pressure cooker recipes, there are several sites on the internet that cater to cooking under pressure.. Use Google and search for “pressure cooker times” and in the first couple of pages of results you will see several sites.
There is another book that is by Warden called Slow Food Fast and it is good. Lorna Sass is also a good author.. just check the internet as there is an abundance of info.

Thank you for telling me where to put the condensation collector.BA should have printed better instructions in the user guide, but it loooks like they would rather spend the money on heavy cardstock booklets rather than useful info.
I love my cooker….made the best roast EVER last night, no leftovers :-(. Anyway, I have fould BA less than useful when it comes to customer service. I literally waited on hold for 6 hours and 38 minutes. I had the phone on speaker and went about my daily chores.
Thanks to helpful folks like you I was able to prepare the meal right on time.
HSN should insist on better instructions.

Thank you so much for the directions I misplaced mine and this is a lifesaver. Bless you…

thank you for putting this in. I have been afraid to try mine, once I got over the fear, I’m beginning to really like it. I thought there was a cooking time sheet in here somewhere, but can’t find it. Wonder if anyone has one?
-
Thank you so much for taking time and putting this on here! I was lost!

Hi thanks for instructions
I bought mine over a year ago and got frustrated
Just took it out again
Question:
The vent button that opens and closes seems really loose and you can’t tell the difference open or closed
Is that right? -
OMG! What a pain this is. I haven’t used mine in quite some time and obviously forgot. Even back then when I first got it I was confused and it took several tries to get the thing to work. Thank you so much for the instructions.
