It is Not Joy. It is GRIEF!!

Joy is an Executive of HSN and is President of their Ingenious Designs division.  It gives her a lot of clout…

She grosses the highest earnings on HSN as well.  She is a money maker for this company.  Probably, why she gets to do some things she wants.

Joy’s children have not disrespected me in the least so I just want to get that out there, since I replied to this thread.

I used to like her, but more and more each day .. I can’t stand her.  She has no qualms and she tells fairy tale after fairy tales about the stuff she sells.  Not only does She tell the fairy tales, but she abuses her recognition as ‘boss lady’ to prompt hosts and others to tell outrageous fairy tales on her behalf. ……..  Goood Grief.

I’m envious of anyone who has a lucrative family business to always guarantee them a job (particularly if it’s a cushy one), but I don’t really fault Joy for giving her kids these particular positions. And I think it’s more about that than turning them into stars. I mean, aren’t they a little old to suddenly be “discovered” by Hollywood or something? Not to mention, what would Joy have to gain from her kids being “stars”? She’s already, like, a billionaire, and famous enough in her own right to have had a biopic made about her.

But back to said jobs – from the looks of it, they essentially were created for Joy’s kids (Do we really need a “style expert” telling us why we should buy Iman’s palazzo pants? That’s what the hosts and vendors themselves are there for). So it’s not like she’s taking away jobs from people who really need them.

Not to mention, even if Joy were doing that, A. It’s only one or two positions we’re talking about, not filling her entire factory with nepotism-hires, B. I could be assuming too much, but it kind of seems like anyone who would be in the running for a job as the HSN “style expert” isn’t depending on it to keep them and their family from poverty (just get a job in local retail, if that’s your aim), and C. How much talent does it really take to gush about merchandise? 

It makes a person wonder just why there was not a position within her own business for the kids to work, maybe starting in the assembly line and working their way up like most people do. My parents owned a business and we had to prove ourselves a position in the business just like any other person that would walk through the door and apply for the position. If we wanted to advance, we had to earn it. That make me a better person and I knew when I made it to position I wanted to be, It was because I deserved it and not because my parents owned the business. That make me a better person and made me who I am today. Believe me, my parents expected more from me than any other person, so I had to really work hard to deserve it. My sisters and brother had to do the same. But I am proud of what my parents and the business they left behind for us.

Any bets on what JOY’S next dvd will be named?

Joy should consider others over herself:)

Surely she should help her children. What parent would not. But keep them with you, with Your products, in Your company. ..  Respect other vendors who have invested time and money, who have their names stamped on products. Respect hosts who have worked hard to learn and perfect their craft. … Have your children helping You sell hangers and fish hide cardboard split leather and purple vacuums.  Allow them to show off the ‘amazing’ miracle mop.  Let them mop the kitchen or help with product displays. Do not cast them over and upon other vendors and over hosts and HSN models. To do so shows high insensitivity and disrespect.

Yet, HSN sold out to her so all must do what mamma Joy says. … All except me. I realize that I don’t have to watch it and neither should I buy it.  …  and so I will not.  …. Goood Grief.

Seriously, the thing is all of the things she brings are so cheap and tacky looking. Remake them in quality and class up the color schemes then I will do  flips for Joy. All she is now to me is a purveyour of cheap plastic .
