*Updated Launch Date: New changes to the Community are coming soon!
**Launch Date has been updated to reflect new date
Hi everyone! We’re working on some exciting new changes to make the Community experience even better! With that said, we wanted to share with you all what to expect as we introduce these changes on March 15, 2017 and answer any questions you may have.
What’s going to change?
1. Rankings – We’ve heard your feedback and understand that Community ranks can be confusing. Instead, we’re going to use roles for identifying user types like “moderator” or “expert” so you can distinguish between Community members, experts and moderators.
2. Q&As – Q&A’s just like these are coming back in March to help you better connect with the HSN experts and brands you love!
3. Mobile – The mobile experience is getting an overhaul to resemble the same look & feel that you’re familiar with on desktop to help you stay connected with your friends on-the-go! :smileyhappy:
4. Articles – We’re excited to also say that our articles will be moving to their own destination. Think of this as a mini HSN magazine that will include DIY projects, home inspiration, fashion tips and more!
5. Private Messaging – This will be going away temporarily as we make changes, but we plan to keep this feature once updated.
6. Favorites & Subscriptions – We’re making two of your favorite features more easily accessible and more prominent on the home screen. Favorite: You’ll be able to bookmark topics that you’d like to follow or that you’ve commented on. Subscribe: You’ll be able to stay in the know when it comes to your favorite boards and topics by subscribing to them to follow any new posts. You will be able to access your favorites and subscriptions with one click on the home screen – no more digging through different topic threads! :smileyhappy:
The look and feel of the Community will be refreshed, but almost identical to our current design! We’re so excited! But, we always want to hear your feedback on how we can make your experience here even better. Are there any specific features you all would like to see?

When you say rankings if you are talking about the one beside my avatar, that can go away. I don’t care about it, although some people do work to earn theirs. If by rankings you mean the leader boards, I say NOOOOO. I love to try to better my score and move up the leader boards. You have a variety of groups here: shopping people, game playing people, community interaction people, etc. It will be hard to please everyone. I just ask that you step back and ask ‘who benefits’ from each change. I greatly appreciate being able to ask the community questions about products, for instance. I would do less shopping if I couldn’t do that. Decide who is important to you before you make the change, and evaluate some fo the useless things that are here that everybody agrees could go away – like Panda games. I don’t understand how ranking by earned ticket amounts is an incentive. Lifetime ticket amount? By game? I’ll just have to wait and see.
I’ll end with the Change Percentage Principle: no matter what decision you make for others, one third will agree with you, one third will disagree with you, and one third will not care one way or the other. Let’s see how the principle holds up. Good luck.

If you are looking for ideas on how to improve the community why not set up a focus group consisting of forum contributors?
-
Here we go!!! Change for change sake….I agree with Velvet..Everyone understands the rank system. It is not confusing. Where in the world did you get that idea? Even worse you are stopping the Q&A. That is probably the best idea around here in years. I have a suggestion. Why haven’t you tried a survey? Come up with a good survey for the community to tell you what is good and what is bad…what they like and what they don’t like. Until you do that you are going to have a lot of unhappy people. just my opinion…I could be wrong……lol

How about a total separate community for the Arcade Games?

I will be glad to see the rankings go away. Why bother with any type of rankings. Rankings pit people against people and groups against groups.
Anything to promote “advancement” will pit people against each other with negative results.
If anything just show how long a person has been here. Too many people have advanced by making silly posts on thread after thread like “super”, great, good, wtg, etc.
If you are going to continue ranking, then there has to be a better way of making those advancements. And there is only 1 rank that I know of where there was an ac tual benefit…can’t even remember what the rank is, but when you hit that rank, your pics that you post go on immediately, they did not have to be approved by the mods. Of course they would stilll get pulled if against guidelines.
You also need to get rid of the “smile board”. There again this is a negative thing that pits people against each other, or groups against groups. Wayyyyyyyyy too many smiles are for saying, “great, wtg, or posting a smiley”. Dumb and childish.
And the guidelines are ridiculous and left up to the whim of the particular mod on duty. They are not clear. But that seems to be ok so the mods can determine what they say.
And also start telling people on that particular post and thread, why it was pulled. Don’t just say “read the guidelines”. Read the useless guidelines??? They don’t tell us anything especially when the mods get to determine if something is against the guidelines or not.
For instance there was a disgusting pic that was posted the other night. I reported it and I am sure many others did too. But it wasnt pulled till at approx 12 hours later. And yes there was a mod on duty. Or at least her avatar was showing.
I know everything I have said is negative BUT, if you change things properly then they can all become positivesl!
OHHHH and the banning process is bad. I have heard that many people are given a chance by the mods to change something in their post so it doesnt get pulled. But not everyone is given that chance.
And I was banned for posting something on a negative thread, and I said something to the poster…cant even remember what, not important. BUT I got an immediate ban. Others started posting the same things I said and they did not get a ban, but a day later that thread was pulled. In this case, shouldn’t my ban have been lifted?
And I know others have been in this situation.
Anyway thanks for listening. And please don’t ban me for this post because it is negatives. But I am trying to get rid of the negatves. And I believe you did ask what we thought!!

Like Mooncat said, I don’t think the ranking system was well thought out but everyone understands it.
I don’t think displaying ticket totals or giving tickets for posting is a good idea at all. This will encourage people to post more non product related subjects and comments just to get tickets. When tickets were awarded for writing reviews a couple of years ago the product pages were filled with unhelpful and useless reviews like “love it”, “hate it”, “great”, etc. written just to get tickets. Encouraging people to post for tickets will yield a community page full of “won on Spin to Win”, etc. just to get tickets. The majority of the regular posters come to the community to discuss products and trends not the arcade games and who has the most tickets. There are leaderboards for each game as well as the all time, weekly and daily leaderboards which can be accessed at any time.
I have always thought the Community was here to discuss and ask questions about HSN products. The changes will not encourage these types of conversations. People come to the community for information. Why turn the forums into another arcade game?
The Q & A is one of the better things here and those discussions often continue on other threads. The majority of people here do not use FB. Looking at the Panda games, there has not even been 1,000 games played between the 4 due to having to play via FB!
The articles with a very few exceptions are pretty useless.
From enduring past forum and arcade revampings this is a disaster waiting to happen. Why is this thread buried in TAY? 99% of gamers do not know TAY exists!

How about rankings based on longevity of membership or participation? Many in the community are not big gamers. Ranking by tickets could be better shown by allowing us to search on the leaderboards rather than only being able to see the top 10 or the 10 people around us.
The biggest thing I see mobile users wanting is the ability to play all the games. That would also enable us to play more than the 7 mobile games on the Game of the Week.
-
Hmmmm…Where to begin? Rankings does not bother me. Now Arcade Points not
everyone plays in the Arcade. My paltry tickets amount would not beat anyone:womanlol:
I do not like to rival anyone I like to play for fun. JMO!
I will wait and see the new format.
Thank you.:smileyhappy:
Happy New Year.

Hello Briana, twizzle3 here. My profile on desktop view of mobile app does not reflect most everything. Also, profile shows different info under sign ins with upper case than those of upper case. Are those things new mobile app will address?
