Hi everyone! We’re working on some exciting new changes to make the Community experience even better! With that said, we wanted to share with you all what to expect as we introduce these changes on March 15, 2017 and answer any questions you may have.
What’s going to change?
1. Rankings – We’ve heard your feedback and understand that Community ranks can be confusing. Instead, we’re going to use roles for identifying user types like “moderator” or “expert” so you can distinguish between Community members, experts and moderators.
2. Q&As – Q&A’s just like these are coming back in March to help you better connect with the HSN experts and brands you love!
3. Mobile – The mobile experience is getting an overhaul to resemble the same look & feel that you’re familiar with on desktop to help you stay connected with your friends on-the-go! :smileyhappy:
4. Articles – We’re excited to also say that our articles will be moving to their own destination. Think of this as a mini HSN magazine that will include DIY projects, home inspiration, fashion tips and more!
5. Private Messaging – This will be going away temporarily as we make changes, but we plan to keep this feature once updated.
6. Favorites & Subscriptions – We’re making two of your favorite features more easily accessible and more prominent on the home screen. Favorite: You’ll be able to bookmark topics that you’d like to follow or that you’ve commented on. Subscribe: You’ll be able to stay in the know when it comes to your favorite boards and topics by subscribing to them to follow any new posts. You will be able to access your favorites and subscriptions with one click on the home screen – no more digging through different topic threads! :smileyhappy:
The look and feel of the Community will be refreshed, but almost identical to our current design! We’re so excited! But, we always want to hear your feedback on how we can make your experience here even better. Are there any specific features you all would like to see?

I, for one, am thrilled to see the rankings going. I’ve only been playing in the arcade for two years, and don’t have the number of tickets that many have, but since that is not going to be used to give special privileges to members, I’m fine with that also.
So many here have been kind and helpful to me, too many to mention, but they know who they are. I think this will make the forum a better place.

You’ve been here helping us in the community on many many occasions and for quite awhile now. I always felt that you always did the best that anyone possibly could to help us enjoy the HSN community.
I look forward to the changes that you have planned.
Most of the time I have anxiety or procrastination when thinking about changing some things, but I am not afraid of any changes to this community with you in charge. I am absolutely confident that you are doing your best to make things better for us.

Hi everyone…just signed on and it seems to be very busy about the changes here today….LOL.
After much thought, I think dismantling the “community ” posts on fashion, beauty should be dropped entirely. It’s only a small portion of posters (including myself) who are interested in reviewing and talking about fashion and beauty products anyway. Then Mod’s get angry when we mention another store, channel, better sale on product, etc. anyway. Everyone will be just fine without it. Better for shoppers to depend on “reviews” on the products HSN has to offer.
There are many more gamers here than review posters.. On most days 12-20 people chatting. But on Friday nights there 60 plus. Why not focus on your target market and make it a fabulous gaming site!!
Then you won’t have to deal with negative conversations anymore on some of the junk your vendors peddle that drives your mod’s crazy. Your not perfect HSN. Your dislike of “truthful” reviews and “transparency” issues is what troubles me the most.
I don’t know, engage, or care about PM’s, gangs, etcetera.
I signed on last year, had a nice time and met some lovely people along the way, engaged with most, and had fun!

Briana… There are only two changes I would like to see take place—>
(1) Get rid of the god-forsaken HSN White Bar at the top of the page that continues to scroll down as we scroll down a page.
(2) Get rid of the irritatingly stupid ‘PREVIEW’ notice on the Viewing Pages! Whoever had the bright idea of placing it right in the middle of the Product-View is incompetant beyond belief. I find it not only impossible to believe someone got a paycheck for such shoddy work, but also find it impossible that someone got a paycheck for approving it!!! It ALWAYS ends up COVERING the Jewelry, Shoes, Handbags, Clothes, Make-up, or whatever-item you’re wanting to ACTUALLY PREVIEW!

, listen I appreciate all of your attempts to explain. Nothing you state adds up for me. I have noticed many Pro2’s who have a smile weight of 2. You have too, I’m sure. I don’t have that and I never did.
I’m done with this discussion for now. My thoughts, concerns about the Community is the same as it was before your first post to me. Hasn’t changed. I don’t believe half the things many would have us believe about how things are supposed to work around here. I’m the one who has been affected so I no it’s not true.
Please stop trying to make me feel like I’m stupid. I already told you I don’t have those abilities . Quite frankly I’m tired of you taking what I’ve offered and disregarding it as if it were not true. Your insistence does not make it true.

anything you all can do to eliminate “baiting” on the forums would be a good thing as well. I guess this is organized via private messaging which, you are of course monitoring.

Is the Private Messaging feature “moderated” like the boards are? If it is now, will it continue to be moderated?

Hi Briana, wow! The changes sound fantabulous to me. Hope the transition goes smooth with no glitch. I have some questions:
1) Will we still have our Avatar with our username along with the ticket amount?
2) Q&A. I’ve never looked for it where is it, sounds nice will there be a electronic expert that we can chat with on certain days between certain hours on a dedicated forum re: electronic products?
3) Private messages, when it is down will the pm’s delete or will they still be there also will i be still able to insert a pic to someone in a PM?
4) Will Hsn be down for the new change maintenance?

first of all, ABSOLUTLEY NO!!!!! TO DISPLAYING TICKET AMOUNTS AND NOT RANK.
whomever decided this proposed form of community identification is ignorant to the ways and core of the community- and exhibits only cursory thinking!!!
***i want to be identified by my level of community participation- posts, etc.- not by how many times i play in the arcade and actually win tickets.***
the arcade is one thing and the community forum posts are another.
both are important yet, again, focusing on tickets dissects and negates the huge weight and support of posting.
it is precisely the posting and its freedom that fosters a very important and familiar bond and nurturing environment based on direct customer interaction.
this bond, then, in turn, only increases hsn customer satisfaction and, i hate to focus on money, but, this confidence thereby generates more online sales.
*** also, i must say that some of us have worked very hard over a very long time to achieve a certain rank through participation.***
***sorry, not sorry- i do not want to be on the “same level” as an hsn customer who never even posted 1 comment on the community boards.***
there needs to be some reward by hsn for loyalty to the forums.
also, in response to rank assignment, it must be said that hsn tech/website automatically and WITHOUT FAVOR upgrades the community poster after a given time period of participation.
now, to get rid of this automatic promotion based on participation because certain customers are feeling impatient and impulsive is absolutely CHILDISH and JUVENILE!!!
lastly, to those who claim that they do not understand the rank system, all you need to do is
go to hsn community, then click on welcome- getting started and then scroll down to the post that concerns itself with rank- hsn manager mayor dave j- “community rank and roles”.
all the community rank/role explanations are listed.
and, in order to access it, all you need to do is call/email hsn customer service AND/OR post to community and an expert poster will tell you what to do.
***THEREFORE, ONCE AGAIN, IN THE FUTURE, FOR FORUM IDENTIFICATION, PLEASE KEEP DISPLAYING THE RANK SYSTEM AND NOT TICKET AMOUNTS!!!***
to eliminate the rank system undermines the whole spirit and core of the community.

personally, i like having rankings. it keeps me playing more and, having a goal and a little competition
isn’t a bad thing.
however, seeing some people rack up an impossible number of points is annoying. correcting this area would be better than doing away with rankings.
also, please don’t ever do away with the sweepstakes!

Brianna, upon re-reading paragraph 1. rankings – you state you will consider rewarding people tickets for interacting on the forums. Won’t that just bring on more LOL’s, etc. just to get more tickets like some do to rank up? :womanindifferent:
