*Updated Launch Date: New changes to the Community are coming soon!
**Launch Date has been updated to reflect new date
Hi everyone! We’re working on some exciting new changes to make the Community experience even better! With that said, we wanted to share with you all what to expect as we introduce these changes on March 15, 2017 and answer any questions you may have.
What’s going to change?
1. Rankings – We’ve heard your feedback and understand that Community ranks can be confusing. Instead, we’re going to use roles for identifying user types like “moderator” or “expert” so you can distinguish between Community members, experts and moderators.
2. Q&As – Q&A’s just like these are coming back in March to help you better connect with the HSN experts and brands you love!
3. Mobile – The mobile experience is getting an overhaul to resemble the same look & feel that you’re familiar with on desktop to help you stay connected with your friends on-the-go! :smileyhappy:
4. Articles – We’re excited to also say that our articles will be moving to their own destination. Think of this as a mini HSN magazine that will include DIY projects, home inspiration, fashion tips and more!
5. Private Messaging – This will be going away temporarily as we make changes, but we plan to keep this feature once updated.
6. Favorites & Subscriptions – We’re making two of your favorite features more easily accessible and more prominent on the home screen. Favorite: You’ll be able to bookmark topics that you’d like to follow or that you’ve commented on. Subscribe: You’ll be able to stay in the know when it comes to your favorite boards and topics by subscribing to them to follow any new posts. You will be able to access your favorites and subscriptions with one click on the home screen – no more digging through different topic threads! :smileyhappy:
The look and feel of the Community will be refreshed, but almost identical to our current design! We’re so excited! But, we always want to hear your feedback on how we can make your experience here even better. Are there any specific features you all would like to see?

I won a 25 dollar gift card on the spin to win game and they said I would receive an e-mail but I never got one and now it is probably to late to check since I am not sure what day it was. That really sucks since you never win anything on that game except tickets.

Hello Briana ,
I think the majority of HSN arcade members are wonderful and loyal .
I hope part of the new changes will enhance our time together , especially on Friday night .
I join HSN over 30 years ago when you could place a order with Tootie the computer lol.
The Mods are wonderful and helpful , but I would love to see a few more to watch out for the spammers . Many are from the other shopping channel Q. I confirm after a few days of research.
I join the community based on the wonderful folks posting and the chance to win a prize , but I almost quit unitl I realize most of the bad post about HSN came from the other channel just to troll or cause confusion .
Thank you and the entire HSN staff for a wonderful shopping experience over the years .I would welcome any changes that will make the Arcade community more enjoyable and frutiful for customers. I get frustrated on occasion with the current version for numerous reasons, including several mention by other members .
I hope you change the format. . I complain numerous times about the Big Drop screen or whatever the technical term would be . You need to zoom out to 75 % to post or purchase .
The top of the main page covers everything . I sign off when I can’t take it anymore lol .
I agree with the members asking to keep our ticket history private for the communtiy to remain peaceful and respectful .
PS. Both you and your Hair are beautiful . I think you should be on Air during the Beauty report .

1. Rankings – Other than our user names, I think we should have the option to to show or not show parts of our profiles. I don’t think tickets should be awarded for interacting in the community. There’s many more people playing games than are currently actively participating in the community. I think you’re trying to encourage more gamers to join in on the discussions. That’s fine, but maybe there’s another way to do that. Other than discussions about the games, I don’t see what the entire community forum has to do with the games.
2. Q&As – I’d like to see Q&As on the item pages.
Other changes I’d like to see.
Let us post pictures that include celebrities. I don’t know why you don’t. What makes them so different from any other person that appears in a picture?Like QVC, don’t allow unkind or bait posts about hosts and presenters.
Let us post URLs that don’t violate the guidelines. -
Rather than giving tickets for posting, I think you should consider giving tickets based on purchases, for example, your purchase times 10, or times 100. However I think these should be called something like Rewards Tickets or Frequent Buyer Tickets, and while they could be used like Arcade tickets in the Rewards Store, they should be maintained separately from the Arcade Tickets. Arcade Tickets should only be earned for playing arcade games.
I disagree with the idea of posting arcade ticket balances by forum posts. One has nothing to do with the other (except in the Arcade forum), and tickets are meaningless if you don’t play games. If you need to post anything beside the avatar/name, post the day the person joined the forums.
Yes, please, improve the mobile site. The forum conversations are difficult to follow, and it’s not easy to reply to a post and have it appear where you expect it to. In the mobile arcade, the 3 games I play the most (TS Jigsaw, Mahjongg Dimensions, and Sudoku) are all different from the full site versions. Please correct that.
Finally, the word “rivals” makes sense when comparing scores for individual games. In that case, we do compete against each other (or our own previous scores) to get a higher position on the leader board. It would be nice to be able to scroll through an entire leaderboard rather than just seeing the top 10 or the 10 around you.
People do compete for position on the overall ticket board, but that board is more an indication of the time and inclination people have to play the games.
It’s apparent that people also compete for position on the smile board. Smiles have never been used as HSN intended (to show posts that are valuable or exceptionally helpful), so do away with that board altogether. But keep the Smiles, because they’re a nice happy thing.
Thanks for your interaction on this thread,

You say you are wanting our opinions and feedback but like others have pointed out it doesn’t appear so. All but 2 people do NOT want tickets posted next to their names. That’s a pretty loud message that is being sent by the majority and being ignored.

HI, I have hesitated to add my thoughts because they are not in line with most people that have posted here but I guess I should speak for the other side. First, I will be very sorry to see the ranks go bye bye. Some of us worked very hard to get where we are and it will all seem in vain when they are gone. Maybe I feel that way because I am retired from the US Air Force where rank was a very important thing….lol. Second, I support your proposal for the displaying of your arcade tickets. I think it is a good idea to show your involvement with the whole purpose of the arcade and that is to play games. I am curious about one thing though. Are you planning to use the total ticket count or the available ticket count?
Whatever your decisions are about the “new” arcade I, and I am sure most of the other Arcadian’s, will be very supportive.
Thanks

Briana, thank you for giving us a heads up on the changes. I realize that this is HSN’s forum and not a democracy. You have not stated that the changes are up for discussion and seem to be merely asking for additional ideas.
However, I’m going to say that I am opposed to having my earned ticket amounts displayed next to my profile. Despite your explaining that it’s not a form of ranking it will be perceived as such. How could it not be? If you truly want to eliminate issues associated with ranking and the inherent competition just use our nicks and save the mods and us a lot of grief.
Thanks for listening and Happy New Year!

I have read through this entire thread and Briana pops in frequently to clarify something, and frequently says she will pass on the info. However, throughout this entire thread it has been repeated over and over that the majority do NOT want Arcade scores posted next to their name. There has been no mention from Briana about this even though so many already know that the posting of the scores is only going to create another form of “political” rivalry and I believe my score is no one’s business but mine nor is anyone else’s any of my business. If there are people that want to make that public information, post a new thread and those that want can post that information.
Briana, you have asked the Community for their input on these changes but you have not responded to posting Arcade scores other than saying it isn’t any type of measurement within the Community. I think we all got that back on page 1. I would like a very clear response as to why you ever thought of posting our Arcade score to begin with and beings that the vast majority are against it you only respond it doesn’t mean anything – but it will still be there.
WHY and WHAT does it accomplish to post Arcade scores? On many occasions you have said you will “pass along” someone’s idea but you have never said you would pass along the idea of doing away with your idea of NOT posting Arcade scores – why?
I guess we will see how much you really wanted our input or the only reason for this thread was to tell us what was changing and everything that everyone has said has been nothing more than a sounding board while you make the changes you already decided and this has been nothing more than to give us the impression our “input” was really going to be considered!

One more opinion about tickets for participating. I might not be the majority here and that’s okay, just a couple more points to consider. I like any additional methods as a way to earn tickets. It helps those who might not be gamers earn tickets for the Rewards Store. As for quality of posts, put a 50 word minimum to qualify for tickets. Instead of believing all people will abuse the opportunity, believe the majority will do right and post accordingly. It might just draw new members to the community. If it’s abused, discontinue the opportunity. A major retailer offers a similar program. If anything, I strive for meaningful posts since I feel they are giving me something in return. Just throwing this out there for your next discussion on this matter. Again, thank you for asking for our thoughts on future changes.

Another 2 cents in, but since I’ve been here for under a year I’ve seen very few problems the way the current system runs. Yes, it’s fine to get rid of ranks, etc. There seemed to be harmony for most of the people in the community. I know in the past from what I read there was a lot of arguing among posters, shut downs, etcetera.
But now I do see it happening already….. There is a saying “Those that forget the past are condemmned to relive it”. Hope you know what your doing and best of luck!:womanhappy:

I thought when Briana said the ticket count would be in our profile, it would be in our “profile”, not next to our name when we post. It seems some people think it will be next to our names each time we post, has that been specified? I don’t really care, but I have not seen that as being the case. Anyone know? The message was a bit confusing, so I can see how people could take it both ways.

BRIANA, thank you ever so much for your reply! Was delighted to see it – SMILEY FACE

Anytime improvements are offered, I’m for it! I will say there’s plenty I don’t quite understand. So, I’ll watch, listen, ask questions and learn. One thing I learned quickly is that you ladies are always ready to offer help. I’m very grateful. :womanhappy::heart:

Making anyone’s Arcade score available for anyone to see is a complete invasion of privacy. Why on earth or who on earth came up with that brilliant idea? I can see no reason for doing it unless now you want to make “politics” out of scores the same way the ranking and smiling system has been. I can’t think of 1 positive reason for doing this and I really hope you reconsider this.
