*Updated Launch Date: New changes to the Community are coming soon!
**Launch Date has been updated to reflect new date
Hi everyone! We’re working on some exciting new changes to make the Community experience even better! With that said, we wanted to share with you all what to expect as we introduce these changes on March 15, 2017 and answer any questions you may have.
What’s going to change?
1. Rankings – We’ve heard your feedback and understand that Community ranks can be confusing. Instead, we’re going to use roles for identifying user types like “moderator” or “expert” so you can distinguish between Community members, experts and moderators.
2. Q&As – Q&A’s just like these are coming back in March to help you better connect with the HSN experts and brands you love!
3. Mobile – The mobile experience is getting an overhaul to resemble the same look & feel that you’re familiar with on desktop to help you stay connected with your friends on-the-go! :smileyhappy:
4. Articles – We’re excited to also say that our articles will be moving to their own destination. Think of this as a mini HSN magazine that will include DIY projects, home inspiration, fashion tips and more!
5. Private Messaging – This will be going away temporarily as we make changes, but we plan to keep this feature once updated.
6. Favorites & Subscriptions – We’re making two of your favorite features more easily accessible and more prominent on the home screen. Favorite: You’ll be able to bookmark topics that you’d like to follow or that you’ve commented on. Subscribe: You’ll be able to stay in the know when it comes to your favorite boards and topics by subscribing to them to follow any new posts. You will be able to access your favorites and subscriptions with one click on the home screen – no more digging through different topic threads! :smileyhappy:
The look and feel of the Community will be refreshed, but almost identical to our current design! We’re so excited! But, we always want to hear your feedback on how we can make your experience here even better. Are there any specific features you all would like to see?

Hi everyone! I wanted to go ahead and thank you all again for all of the feedback you’ve provided! We’ve been working diligently on our upcoming release and have been implementing all of your suggestions where possible. Our official launch date is set for March 15, 2017. I will be updating you all again soon in the Community with more specifics about the launch and what to expect as we transition.
Thanks again!

, HSN, and HSN Community, so in your view you think a few bad apples ruin the whole barrel mentality. I say that is a negative attitude towards your HSN customers and potential customers. HSN again, taking some small priveledges away because you can. It is not being replaced with more incentives, but less incentives. I read the posts, i gave a lot of smiles away because someone said something nice or cute or interactive. Now it is taken away? Talk about be an unfriendly forum. Why even have the posts or the games?
You could point out a problem in life with any activity involving the public because people have problems!!!! It is simple you block the problem people.
If someone is being harassed or so called bullying then you suspend them. Now that would be an easier solution. I have done a lot of purchasing over the years and all i am seeing is consistent negativity towards your customers. What is your deal HSN?
The whole coupon issue of select customers you will not even address. You are NOT transparent in coupons for everyone who would like to use a coupon!!! A person could go to any store and use a coupon, not HSN, because they have coupons only for “select customers only”. If anyone could be blamed for contributing to division on the issues it is you HSN. NO THANK YOU HSN. I disagree completely with these so called new changes that are to come. New does not always mean a better product. And in this case these changes only benefit you HSN. Because you don’t want to deal with anything fair. Again i say NO THANK YOU HSN. You lack loyalty to repeated customers and frequent users of the forums.

I will miss smiling , discussing purchases and buying
No ranks and no smiles equate to NOT a fun place
just my opinion :smileyfrustrated:

What else is there to discuss. Ms. Anderson has stated what changes are coming. I would think the discussion is over.
-
Briana hasn’t posted over here for at least 2 weeks. Is the discussion over?

I say keep the ranks, these guys have worked to hard for that. Will not now are ever bother me.
I enjoy playing games, and looking for good deals.

i just wanted to address this issue of “competition” that some of the forum posters have brought up for discussion.
the only time that i see “competition” on the forums is when it comes to the arcade games and i hate to lay blame but 99.999999% of the time, if not all 100%, it is the hsn moderators themselves that are the source of it- usually by posting weekly threads such as “beat “fill in name”‘s score of “x” usually to get some type of valuable hsn prize.
***otherwise, like boot mentioned earlier, i have found nothing but solid strength, kind support and positive direction from the regular forum posters (who understand fully and completely what the hsn forum community workings are in and out) both to the familiar each other and to the newcomer.***
also, if there is “competition” on the forums, i have found it to be a PERSONAL “COMPETITION” where posters try to elevate themselves to their personal best and not pit themselves maleficently against each other.
for instance, the posters on the jpa thread (of which, in the spirit of full disclosure, i consider myself to be a regular contributor to) do nothing but help one another- newcomers or not. they will share their knowledge and support freely and openly about any and all topics, issues and/or concerns.
***i have never witnessed any poster give wrong advice or acknowledgement nor lead anyone down a false primrose path in order to gain an advantage of whatever sort.***
also, with regards to the jpa and community threads, everytime there is a significant arcade win that a poster makes other posters aware of or a promotion in rank that a poster posts about, ALL of the posters do nothing but offer congratulations and good wishes.
likewise, if a poster is having a personal issue such as a medical condition or some kind of loss, the posters pray for one another and offer 100% of support, if that is what the poster is seeking/needs during that rough patch in their lives. i know this first-hand and have been super grateful for their un-ending and far reaching support.
so, in the end, i just wanted to address this acknowleged concern of “competition” that has been previously expressed here on the forums.
again, i find the forums to be a familiar community of hsn superfans who share their lives- the good and the bad- with one another on a virtually daily basis.
and,to re-cap, if there is any notion of “competition”, i consider it to be a healthy, personal competition unless it is one deliberately fostered by the hsn moderators usually solely on the community arcade pages.
all of this i testify to personally as i have seen and experienced this behavior firsthand.
i hope that my post has helped to clarify my personal viewpoint when it comes to this ambiguous issue concerning the defintion of “competition” here on the hsn forums.
now, it remains in the lap of hsn moderators to “own it”.
sorry, not sorry.
love you, hsn!!!
oh, sigh… xoxo

Briana,
As you can see from just this thread alone many support eliminating the ranks. As pointed out we have many Mavens who earned their rank by not being helpful regarding HSN products as so intended by the ranking system, but by posting general chat room posts. In addition, as pointed out by numerous members and again today on another TAY thread, if folks wish to compete let them do so with games and not the forums. I feel we have a core group of people who contribute to a gang like atmosphere causing the community to be unwelcoming to many new posters. As much as HSN tries to promote the community and entice customers to join the ‘fun’, the community hasn’t grown and many new posters don’t stick around. Just a fraction of the sarcasm and bullying is evident on this thread and it’s always from the same group. I look forward to your changes including eliminating ranks. My hope is that people will stop the competition and come together as one. I think HSN should rethink opening up private messages too. It contributes to the gossip and embellished stories behind the scenes of the community. If it can’t be said in public, it shouldn’t be said. As a matter of fact, one private message circulating is about Sorridere claiming Sorridere is a member who is no longer in the community. We shouldn’t have to do this because it’s really nobody’s business but we will to prove my point AND so those calling out to the poster will take a step back and hopefully realize the people starting these rumors just might have a hidden agenda. Sorridere has been posting for two years and is my husband. Look up the account, yes, my husband. He bought from HSN long before I ever did. He is not “C” as someone likes to call him. He is not “the poster who left” as someone refers to him. He is my husband who plays the games and WAS an HSN customer. Notice WAS a customer. Just about every post was met with a sarcastic undertone regarding his identity. All due to a false private message circulated among a handful of members. I thought it would be fun to bring him to the community I once loved. The more the merrier, right? Wrong, ranks and private messages contributed to the hierarchy mentality invalidating any comments by new posters. Another example is the recent Ivanka Trump posts. With the story hitting the various media outlets, your customers came to the community to voice their opinion. Some were verbally attacked and accused of being the same person because of their Visitor rank. I really don’t think those who attacked the new posters realized how large the news story was at the time. I felt bad for those posters and just another reason to remove ranks. Old members or new members, everyone brings value. Two members in particular made a serious attempt of libeling my husband’s identity and contributions to the community and another example of ranks and private messages fostering ill will within the community. For those who received the news flash about my husband by private message and/or email, I sure hope they stop and think before spreading gossip via private messages. I imagine your leadership team designed the community to enhance the customer experience and build brand loyalty. With the current state of affairs it contributed to a negative perception for at least one customer and I imagine others who were ran off. I look forward to the changes and a FRESH START FOR ALL.

Removing ranks may hurt sales .
Buying posters actually bring attention to items here and actually sell more than the host at times .
Actually the number of people that set and watch shopping channel is nil compared to those that get online and get ideals from fellow posters . THEN they turn on and ahhhhh they buy .
WE are your co- host sales people . . PLEASE rethink the RANKS .

I, for one, love the ranking. I have enjoyed working up the ladder to advisor and will miss it. It just shows some of us participate here and bring up different topics to talk about and offer answers others have. I don’t understand why anybody would have a problem with that. It has nothing to do with getting certain priviledges. It just means maybe I paticipate more than another person and am recognized for it. It certainly hasn’t won me anything that isn’t available to everybody. Its nice being appreciated.

I’m sorry Briana, “can be Confusing” seems like a lame excuse to take away the ranks. Why not give the answers the “confused” are asking? When guidelines/rules change shouldn’t they be updated on the Questions/answers threads that “new members” read? I’ve have made friends with many of good people on here. and this is very unfair to them. Don’t get me wrong I’m all in for change when it is to “better” something. But not this, they have spent years building their friendships. They consider each other Family including all of the employees at HSN. They laugh ,cry, and celebrate your growing families with you,and include all of you in their prayers. so I’m asking you to stop and think of the ones that have been here through the years and honor their wishes,Let them keep their ranks. Show them some respect. It is the right thing to do.

When the Community is refreshed, the moderators should move off-topic posts, and remove posts that aren’t keeping the mood friendly.

5:20 in Michigan…tell that gal to please shut up while Wokf Gang is talking. I’d like to hear the recipes and his opinion..not hers. I watch ti see Wolf Gang..not necessarily your hosts..she does not need to talk every minute of his presentation. Very irritating!

The lack of consistency in “moderating” is confusing. I have asked the Customer Service forum for clarification but have been ignored. Since the forums have been flooded w political threads for days, do these Community Guidelines no longer stand?
“Avoid topics that are typically inflammatory including, but not limited to, politics …”
-
Please pull the political threads .
