Samantha Brown Luggage set is garbage.
This story is about poor customer service from HSN and poor quality products from China.
I in no way blame the supervisor nor the chat rep that I spoke with today.
I purchased a set of Samantha Brown green luggage set last summer.
I have used it approximately 12 times. When traveling, the storage of this luggage set has been inside my car. It has never been used in an airport, bus station, or train. In other words, there has been no rough handling.
When I first got this set, my gut told me to send it back. It has uneven stitching, loose threads, and the buttons have a tarnished look. It is always a hassle to return a product to HSN. So, I told myself it would be okay.
A side seam has come unstitched, and approximately 1 inch of the side by the zipper sticks out.
I contacted HSN and was told that not all Samantha Brown luggage has a 5 year warranty. This is a set that does not have a warranty. I should now that. Excuse me HSN, I do not work for HSN. So, I am not familair with your policies and warranties. Post clearly, "This product has no warranty" on the page where the product is purchased. I was told there is nothing HSN can do. Really? If I had bought this at the store that starts with a K and ends with an S, they would make this right.
Samantha Brown can stop bragging about how other luggage sets fall apart and how her products are quality.

Having done extensive traveling over the years and suffered hundreds of dollars worth of damage to my luggage, I have found it to be ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to personally inspect luggage before I buy it. Sorry, but luggage is something I will not buy without seeing it in person first

I have the black crock Dr.bag and 21 inch carry on set. I bought it about 3 yrs ago. I have taken the set on several cruises and have not had a problem with it. I always carry it with me do not let baggage handlers take it. Happy with my purchase. Looks as good as the day I got it.

There must be a reason why this luggage set had no warranty, when apparently most of her luggage does carry some warranty? … I guess when a customer buys such a product with No Warranty, then that customer assumes the risk.
Some of Samantha Brown’s luggage looks good; however, I am not a fan of S. B. – She seems very arrogant to me.

I’ve been sceptical about that luggage line all alone and your post just confirms my suspicions.
HSN, why not bring REAL luggage – like my favorite Delsey – in? I have checked my hardside Delsey in by now at least a dozen times – as much as you used your set in your car!- and the suitcase is pretty much as good as new.

I don’t think any store would make this right after one year. Furthermore, I love her luggage and have never had a problem. I find your timing of your post incredible since she has a today’s special coming up. I am sorry you received something defective as I too have received defective items from HSN but I have always sent my items back within the 30 day policy and never have had a problem. I do agree with you, I am tired of stuff "made in China" as the quality is just not there. Maybe a seamstress could repair the seam so you would not be out so much money.

So sorry to hear about your experience with Samantha Brown. In answer to your question – I have 2 pieces of hers but no problems at all with them. I always get compliments when I carry them.

How long ago was this? At least a year? And it was one of the pieces in a "set" (2, 3, 4 pieces?) and was it hundreds of dollars vs. about a hundred for all of it? Oh ya…it’s China’s fault that HSN has bd "policy"…

What is the Item Number for this? I just looked at many of her items and only see to contact HSN for specific warranty information, which IS clearly posted on the Overview page, Good to Know section…where did that 5 year thing come from?

I also have had problem with her luggage. The lining shredded on one of the two piece set the first time I used it. Lining of theses suitcases is not suitable for luggage. It is too thin and shreds at the seems on first time use. Will not buy anymore.

SB products seems to get better and better with time. I love her luggage. Maybe the seam can be hand stitched back together?
SB is the only one in my opinion who seems comfortable in front of the camera. She is the only one I can stand to watch on HSN.

I need new luggage, and I am a big HSN fan…but I cannot bring myself to buy Samantha Brown’s luggage because I will need to check the large piece when I travel on the airlines.

I looked at her reveiws and most evereything has 4 stars. I too enjoy watching her, she has so much energy.
