Samantha Brown Luggage set is garbage.
This story is about poor customer service from HSN and poor quality products from China.
I in no way blame the supervisor nor the chat rep that I spoke with today.
I purchased a set of Samantha Brown green luggage set last summer.
I have used it approximately 12 times. When traveling, the storage of this luggage set has been inside my car. It has never been used in an airport, bus station, or train. In other words, there has been no rough handling.
When I first got this set, my gut told me to send it back. It has uneven stitching, loose threads, and the buttons have a tarnished look. It is always a hassle to return a product to HSN. So, I told myself it would be okay.
A side seam has come unstitched, and approximately 1 inch of the side by the zipper sticks out.
I contacted HSN and was told that not all Samantha Brown luggage has a 5 year warranty. This is a set that does not have a warranty. I should now that. Excuse me HSN, I do not work for HSN. So, I am not familair with your policies and warranties. Post clearly, "This product has no warranty" on the page where the product is purchased. I was told there is nothing HSN can do. Really? If I had bought this at the store that starts with a K and ends with an S, they would make this right.
Samantha Brown can stop bragging about how other luggage sets fall apart and how her products are quality.

Back in 2013 I purchase the Samantha Brown First Class Luggage Collection in Navy/Camel. I absolutely love it. I bought the 21, 25 and the dowel bag. I recently added 2 more pieces I bought the 28″ and the drop bottom weekender plus packing cubes. I am debating about whether or not to send the 28″ back because its from the Classic Collection and I had the First Class Collection. Does anyone know if they plan to bring back the first class collection?

I purchase several of her luggage pieces, 21, 25, 28, carry on, inner pieces for jewelry, makeup etc… the overnight etc….I have the Aqua and it is beautiful. I fly often and my pieces have been in the cargo section and I have had no problem with any of the items. I just seen a piece I could use to carry on so I’m saving it to purchse before my next trip. The lining is thin but still holding up. I’m careful when packing and my shoes always go in a separate bag or in shoe bags before packing. But my bags still look good. She did stop bringing the Aqua for a while but then came back wth an Aqua Ombre which is nice but this past weekend the true Aqua was back. I would have waited to purchase the 25″ suitcase if I knew as I reaaly ike the true Aqua better than the hombre… The thing I do not like about the shopping chanel is the short amount of time they give to return. 30 days is not always good. And then to have to pay to send back…all of this just adds up…I do not buy shoes any longer as they never ft…. And I wish HSN would stop forcing magazines on me……I do not want them and they are not free!

Glad I read posts as I was so tempted to buy her tsv today but wasn’t crazy about colors offered…wanted to see seaglass and watermelon….I’m not a big fan of hers either, she’s just a bit snarky for my taste.

I like my SB luggage and purchased an additional piece today. However I am really frustrated with the fact that I had to also spend $90 today to ship 2 pieces for repair under the five year warranty. I would hope to be reimbursed for the money I had to spend to ship it to the place the manufacturer suggested.

I haven’t seen many luggage presentations, I probably watch HSN an hour a week, or sometimes less. However, the ones I have seen seem to focus on trend and colors rather than durability I wouldn’t buy any luggage from HSN.

Her luggage looks so good I have almost got it many times but the reviews that are high are mostly from people who have not actually used it yet- and there are many low ones that reposrt the same broken dreams!
I actually did order a few years ago but mine came w/ a lead warning and since I already was dealing w/ lead poisiong at the time I returned it right away! :catsurprised:
I don’t know why they continue w/ the line.
Makes me cringe when I hear these stories coupled w/ the “it’s fun here, hsn cares” stuff….:catmad:
If you really care re-call the crap and honor your customers!
How do these people live with themselves getting rich off of lousy products that pollute the Earth first when being made then as they fill the land fills?

I bought a set of the green croc and then last year added the 28 inch spinner. I only use this once a year to go on a cruise. this spinner only went on 1 airplane and when it go to my cabin the outside of the case was peeling off in at least 10 different spots. I had never seen anything like it and the bag that has a strap that you can put over your shoulder to carry it which this was only the 4th time it had been used, the strap where it connects to the suitcase was ripped almost totally off. I called HSN which said they would not help I had to call the manufacturer which I did. even though the spinner isn’t even a year old they no longer have that color or style of the bag that needed replaced so I opted for another color which now won’t match the one piece I have left …but then I was told that I have to pay $20.00 per piece of luggage to ship it to me. Why do I have to pay for something that is defective and has a warranty??? now this luggage was to be sent to me 2 weeks ago, when I called to see where it was I was told he needed my address, I spelled out the name of the road I lived on when I agreed to the replacement luggage so how could he say it was sitting in the warehouse waiting for my address and he had been waiting for me to call again???? then after I hung up from this call thinking it was being sent he called me(didn’t have my phone number?) and said what luggage did I want??? I was furious, and said we went over that 2 wks ago and he said oh now I found my notes and I will get it boxed and sent!!! still waiting….I have never seen such poor customer service…I cannot believe Samantha Brown puts her name and reputation behind this kind of product and behavior.

I love the look of her crocodile doctors bag and carry on but I agree the quality is questionable. I also bought the 25 inch roller bag. These bags don’t hold up well to travel.. My doctors bag handle broke as did the carry on strap. Both roller bags have scuffs after careful use. I bought the Cranberry color and would hesitate to use her luggage on a trip where I need to check the bag.

I like to purchase my luggage from a place where I can roll it right back into them when something goes wrong.
Samantha Brown makes too many unsupported claims about the luggage to me. It will be expensive to return it …so I do not buy it.

I received a set of her luggage as a gift from my sister. OMG! I had issues with it from the FIRST time it was used. However, since my sister purchased it several months in advance of my birthday, the 30 day policy was over. "Limited Warranty", SB luggage was so useless, it was a joke, I didn’t even bother trying to do a thing, as I didn’t want to waste my time with something so ridiculously lacking any real value!. Like you, my luggage was used only within my vehicle while traveling. Personally, I was shocked at the severe lack of quality. I was so upset, I made the decison to NOT tell my sister. However, they drove from Nevada out to see us. Once there she asked how I liked using the luggage while traveling within several states. OH NO! Now, I had to tell her. However, instead of telling her, I went up to the attic and brought it down to show her. She was beyond angry at the lack of quality and told me she bought that for me since she knew I would love the color and "quality" as represented on air. She said, WHAT A RIP OFF!! She also told me she paid full price for it. No more SB items for her. I’d never purchased anything from her line, and I won’t.

After getting so much in love with my Delsey suitcase, I finally bought a 21" Delsey spinner. They are half off at Macy’s and another 20% off (the new sales price I assume) if you ‘preorder’ – buy today and pick up tomorrow.
Ladies… There is NOTHING like super lightweight, infinitely controllable, protective, super well designed and made piece of Delsey luggage.
Don’t buy silly bags just because of fun colors. Buy real luggage.

I’ve never purchased any SB products; however, I’m not surprised they lack quality. She’s more interested in trying to turn females into sexy accessories for men. On one of her shows, she addressed the female viewers and told them they should purchase her luggage because it helps make them look sexy to men. She said that men should not have to and do not want to look at unattractive women. She actually said that! I guess she thinks females exist purely for the entertainment of men. Pathetic!
