Paid Reviewers
I’m noticing more and more that most of the 5 star ratings on products are customers who rec’d the product for free in exhange for their "honest" review. Human nature is if you get something for free, and you want to continue to get it for free you’re not going to necessarily leave an "honest" review, you’re going to leave a review that the company wants to hear. Really upsetting that when you want to count on the review you have to go one by one to see if that person was paid in free merchandise. To me, a company that is hard up for good reviews operates that way.

Some vendors like SSC give free procuts to try before the launch to people who sign up on there FB. If I remember correctly, Lancome gave products to the first "X" number of people who ordered a TS and the new products were sent months later. People have posted about receiving DG jeans to try as part of HSN’S Insider Program.

I have never received a free product. I think I received a free sample (like the ones in a magazine) of perfume. What do you do to get a free prodcut to try? I have never noticed any of this in any review I have read.

Interesting. I never trust a review either when someone gets it for free and I’ll be looking even more carefully at the reviews now. I don’t like this at all and find it tacky coming from HSN.

Cherll3, I’m just curious to know how you would know which customers received free products?

Hello , HSN does not participate in paid Reviews, however, if you can provide the item numbers to identify the Reviews you find suspect, I’ll be happy to investigate any concerns.
