Joy Movie
I saw the "Joy" movie and I loved it, mainly because I love Joy Mangano. This has nothing to do with Joy, but it was annoying to me (being from Texas) to see the stereotypical Texas businessman dressed like Hank Williams Sr. in concert. People had not dressed like that in Texas since the 1940’s, and then only when singing country and western songs. The writers need to get with the times, it was a bit off putting for us from this large state! Also, it would have been helpful for the writers to know at least a little about business when writing a script about business, but it was entertaining nontheless.

I own it on Blu-Ray and it’s my go to Movie. Very interesting movie.

Finallly watched the Joy movie last night. When I first heard the movie was being made, then heard it received such a good feedback, I was surprised. But returning on a long flight from Hawaii last month, the woman next to me was watching it on a small screen and she even wept during the movie. So I was intrigued and watched it last night. I tell you what, I have such high respect for Joy now after watching that movie. I had no idea how broke she was while first selling her mop on QVC. Now I was a QVC t.v. Watcher from probably back within the first 5 years it was conceived, and I found it very interesting to see what went on behind the camera, and in front of the camera, The two QVC sales hosts/hostess they alluded to, I remember them! And I remember the host trying to sell the mop. Its a very inspirational movie for sure. The one thing I wish I could tell Joy, is to do a line of certain items (suitcases) and spend a little more on a higher quality materials, and sell your items at the increased cost. It doesn’t help a brand to consistently sell something that others will say is cheap because it will leave the buyer with the mindset that all items sold under same brand are cheap, where I do not think all of Joy’s items are cheap at all. I like the travel mister that comes rolled up in the vacation roll (I can’t think of what its called).
Good movie for teen girls to help them realize how important it is to keep her goals and dreams.
One more thing, I also have a new view of Joy’s daughter, and respect for what she too went through growing up during those times.

Texie, saw the movie today and liked it a lot and I am not a Joy purchaser.

Texie76092, did not see the movie and will not. So proud of you for taking up for "TEXAS" my state also. Long story short: Whatelse could you expect from Joy? Sorry….not a big fan of hers. Again, anything to sell———that’s her drive in life———"BULL-BUTTER."

Kind of like the Crocodile Dundee character. Lived in Australia for over 20 years, never met or saw anyone that acted or looked like him, even in the outback, and if I did and he was waving a knife around then he would just be one crazy Australian man and that’s all. I think most people realize that many people in Texas in the professional world do not dress like Hank Williams and many do not speak with that exaggerted twang either.

Couldn’t figure out which board to put this on since it is just a general conversation.
