Flex Pay not for everyone
Would like to know why you bother charging a card when processing a flexpay when you end up declining the purchase? I now have $130 tied up on my debit card as you denied my purchase of an embroidery machine. Not sure why I was able to purchase a rug cleaner last month without issue. If you are basing this on credit scoring and in house criteria why bother authorizing the card for the full amount of the initial flex pay? Why not perhaps charge $1.00 to insure the card is legit and charge on SHIPMENT. You are amongst the few retailers that charge prior to shipping out an item. Guess I’ll take my business to Amazon.com who doesn’t CHARGE until it SHIPS! Now I get to wait a week and a half (according to my bank) for this authorization to drop off. Ridiculous!

I can not began to explain how mad I am!!! Now my money is tied up because they declined me!!! Why not give me my money back and not have me wait

I made my 1st purchase in October for a carpet cleaner and chose 4 flexpays of $58.xx on my prepaid Walmart Moneycard. The first 3 flexpays processed no problems, then the last payment I was told HSN could not accept a prepaid debit card. I had also made flexpays using the same debit card on 3 other items with no problem at all. Not sure why suddenly this is unacceptable???? It seems nobody in customer service knows what’s going on. I’ve made multiple calls to c/s for different reasons, and the service I receive is horrible.

i think its crazy nobody knows the requirements

same thing happened to me i have $283 tied up amd with it being a weekend its going to take longer, I was told to call the flex payment number and all they had to say was they didnt know and i had to wait for a letter that will take a week. They told me i wasnt eligible but didnt know the requirements for it…..I am trying to buy a tv but i am not going to sit here and have this keep happening.

I have used flex pay and have never had any problems with HSN in the past, but I don’t understand how others can be denied. Is it because you don’t have the funds availabe for the total amount of the purchase item? If that is the case, it makes sense. No retailer is going to send out a computer if you don’t have any funds available. To me flex pay is like layaway, except you get the product to use while you make monthly payments. I have done this with QVC and for me it has worked out great, and we always have the funds for the total product just don’t want to use them all in one hit on a pricey item when we have paid cash for a few other pricey items.

I also was approved for a HSN card, ti was sent to me and when I tried to use it I was not allowed. So sill since I received the card from them! So silly, not to mention the money it cost to make the card and postage to send it to me!

I agree. I now have over $1200 tied up in floating money because of 4 different attempts to use flexpay on an item. I tried with my debit card twice only to get an email 20 minutes later saying order was cancelled. I called HSN and they said it was my bank not releasing the funds. I then called Chase Bank and they said the funds were released already and the purchase confirmed. I called HSN back and a different rep. said it was because I used a debit card and only Credit Cards are accepted for FlexPay. So I tried that. Needless to say, I am never getting my item and no one at HSN can tell me why my orders keep getting cancelled. Now, a week and a half before Christmas, all of my extra money for presents is in a state of limbo for 3-5 days all because 4 different HSN reps gave me ill-advised suggestions on how to purchase the desired item a different way, which ultimately led to another "order cancelled" email. Normally, I would have just gone somewhere else but this particular item is out of my budget but it is for someone really special and unfortunately, I made a desperate decision to keep trying the advice I was given that has now left me in a hole. Thanks HSN, for helping me become a customer QVC, where there isn’t all this gray area, "I am going to take your money, not give you the item purchased, then give you the money back 5 days later."

Not sure how I ended up on the no flex pay list. I’ve made purchases in the past for more expensive products. Very disappointed and frustrated in how this was handled. My money is tied up this close to Christmas for a reason they’re going to mail! Never again. Lost customer forever

I had my ordered canceled in a game that was 70 sum bucks I could of paid the whole thing but they took money out my account twice for the total price of the item never use them again its crazy anyone can pay they have you card information I even paid with PayPal just sad.

I would never use flex pay. Somehow I just think I would have some extra charges somewhere along the way. Besides, if you can’t afford to buy the item outright you should not buy it at all.

Forget HSN! They deny people felxpay they are losing money! What a way to run a business! I sure am going someplace else! hate hsn…..

I had NO IDEA Flex Pay was not offered to everyone; interesting. I will say this, however:
When using a debit card, I have NEVER had a transaction that was cancelled/item returned that took less than 3 days before it appeared back in my account. QVC takes 72 hours for a cancelled transaction to "release the funds" from my checking account. Nordstrom takes 48 hours BUT if I use my Nordstrom Debit card, it takes 7-10 DAYS.
Debit card is nit the same thing as a credit card and treating like one when you may need that cash is the problem: don’t do it or else make sure you have enough cash in your account for it not to be a concern.
Also, once the vendor (HSN, QVC, etc) releases their hold, the bank can take up to 48 hours/2 business days before the funds are "available".

You see I thought that was the whole point of flexpay. You have access to a person bank accounts or credit cards. Not everyone can get approved for your credit cards and not everyone can afford to buy it in full. At least that is what you guys and other places like you use to adverstise. Now you treat it like credit. Why don’t you change your wordin on the flex pay up front next to flex pay or actually admend it to say on approved credit. That would solve every problem and you won’t have upset problems. You can use it with your credit card or there own and say you are going to run a credit check to make sure they pay there bill or whatever it is that you are looking for, and problem solved. Again, as the person advised do not take out any money until that person is approved and the order is fully processed. There is no reason to hold up people’s money (which is exactly what your doing) for up to a week, if they are not getting a product.

When my funds were being held, I simply called my bank and they released the funds back into my account with the condition that if HSN does post the debit to my account, that the released funds would then be taken out. Maybe that will help?
