Flex Pay credit check?
I’ve been a customer for years, and bought many items on flex including TV’s, treadmills, desktops, etc. I tried to buy a laptop, they charged my credit card, and cancelled my order! Turns out they ran my credit (yes, the recession was bad for me too) and experian kindly let everyone know I’m unworthy. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME this has happened in my 5+ years shopping with HSN. Very frustrated, doubt I’ll ever spend my hard earned money there ever again and will probably cancel my HSN card as well. No one there seems like my views are even a concern, and feels like my $ is inconsequential in the grand picture, totally frustrated. -D

I know how disappointed you’re feeling, . Even though this order was canceled that doesn’t mean you won’t qualify for a future order. I want you to know that we appreciate your business and do hope you will give us another try sometime soon.

I agree, had no clue you run credit for that… thats all fine if you do, but I think you should have told me that is a qualification… you cant just run someones credit report with out letting them know, dont you think.. HSN!! Im more mad about that, then the decline. I will not shop with you just for that reason.

I think HSN’s credit checks are very lenient in comparision to other companies.
Many companies routinely run credit checks on customers that are making payments .
It is good business and actually it would be negligent in the performance of their duties not to try to insure collection of payment .
I would not be insulted by any credit checking .

I think everyone is informed if you read the information provided in the help/policy sections.
I tend to overpay on my flex pays….
You can’t really blame HSN a lot has to do with the banks as well.

HSN extends credit to those who purchase using FlexPay…plain and simple. Checking credit is the norm for most businesses so why be upset over HSN doing the same? It’s all in the fine print here. No secrets!

I agree with you Lukeesdad I wasn’t informed their would be any type of credit check my credit is fine. I recently just moved and have been having issues with my new address. I couldn’t even get cable until I provided the company with my lease. I’m assuming some jerk skipped out on the bill, I understand that people are not responsible. However I believe in being up front and clear about your business operations. The only reason why I even came to hsn was because of a super good coupon I received in a email. Now my money is tied up and that is what sucks the most. Fine don’t send me the product but don’t hold my money either I just hope it’s released in 72 hours.

I have been a customer since 2007 and have ordered countless items without any issues. Recently i ordered a $556 item with 5 flex pay. The flex pay would end up being aproximately 110.00. HSN charged my credit card and then sent me an email stating my order was canccelled because i did not qualify for flex-pay. IK have ordered numerous items over years much more costly than this item with out issue. At no time is flex pay ever explained on air that it is upon credit approval. HSN states all day long on the air that all that is required is a credit card or HSN card. This is false advertizing and to those who state this is normal business practices, that is not true. I am a business owner myself and if my practices change i always inform my customers of any changes in the way I do business. This is false advertizing. I would like the information for corporate headqauters which no one to date has been willing to give. You just lost a long time customer.
