EVINE is bad news.
I’ve recently tried Evine for the past year. I truly thought it was owned by HSN because it was all the same products that have been on HSN. It is not and that’s a huge relief. My reasons for no longer going EVINE:
1) Customer Service is very poor. (Don’t have the answers to most questions, they don’t have any authority to do anything but say "no" and the Supervisor Staff is the same)
2) This the MOST IMPORTANT. They offer Value Pay. By checking the box for Value Pay you are agreeing to let Evine check your credit. Not the credit card, BUT your complete Credit History. If you read the reviews about Evine on the website Consumer Affairs, you will read multitude of complaints concerning this. It will show as a "hard check" on your credit which will hurt your credit score. Evine is rated 1 star on this site with over 350 reports. DO NOT DO VALUE PAY. They have very poor record keeping between their bank that handles the Value Pays and the actual site.
I just thought you would want to know.

Your welcomed me. We all must stick together. ??

One more thing if you go to their website and click HELP, then click on Value Pay. There it explains very vaguely about credit checks.

Hi peanutracer, I shop at Evine and use their value pay on a regular basis, never had a problem. I do believe all of the shopping networks are doing credit checks on the extended payment plans. There are numerous topics discussing this issue on the forum if you want to search. You can’t blame them though as they are in business and want to make sure that the items are paid for.

That’s interesting. I will have to check on the others too. I hold my Credit Report to be a very important and hard inquiries are sacred. I feel Evine should change their wording to be more accurate. Any hard inquiries I have had I new ahead of time. A soft inquiry is one thing different because it does not show on your report.
I appreciate your response. After reading about the customer complaints about Evine on Consumer Affairs website for numerous customer service issues and the credit check, I’m not using Evine. Thanks.

Is their edit on these posts? I meant "knew".

I didn’t know that. Thank you for the information

When you choose Flexpay with HSN, you give them permission to check your credit report too.

I have made several transactions with Evine on Value Pay. Evine has never checked my credit report.
They frequently give me discounts. A few months ago, Evine gave me a coupin for 25.00 dollars. I LOVED it! :womanvery-happy: With an incentive like that, I had to purchase a few items. :womanlol:

EVINE has come a long way baby. Almost finished paying off their value pays and then gone baby gone…..Ronnie

I never have bought anything from Evine or Shop NBC. I’ve never found anything but what looks like junk. Their hosts are the worst with zero professionalism! I tried to watch a few programs and it was bad.
I think with HSN they may do a credit check on very expensive items? I know at one time they said they don’t allow easy pay over $1,000, but that was a few months after I started shopping here. I understand this and don’t blame them.
Thanks for the info on Evine though. Sounds like a mess.

I shop at Evine and use their Value-Pay program all the time. In fact, I just bought two fur coats from them last week! I’ve never had a problem with their company… whether is was ShopNBC or now as Evine. Our credit is outstanding and I’m glad to be able to use the dispersed payment schedule whenever I can.
As far as products go, I have my favourite lines there… just as I do here at HSN. I do have an HSN credit card, but I don’t have Evine’s or the Q’s. In any case, dismissing the hassle of ‘Returns’, (for any of these shopping channels), I’ve had nothing but good shopping experiences over at Evine… just as I’ve had here at HSN… and the same over at the Q.
If you’re that worried about your Credit Score, then you should not use any kind of credit to pay for anything. Save your money until you can Pay each transaction In-Full.

I shop at the Q as well as Evine and have never had a bad experience at either one. I do have a Q card. I have been extended the offer of an preaprove Evine card but turned it down. I have enough cards to use. But I have had nothing but good experiences with both. The customer service on Evine has been good for me. No problems. As with the Q too. Very nice.
