I vote YES…   I’ve only been on the community for six months or so, but I like seeing all the ranks from posters   They are cute and positive names as well, so couldn’t possible offend anyone.

Those of you who have earned those high ranks deserve to display it proudly!

YES, I VOTE TO KEEP THE RANKS!!! like everyone else that has posted here, i have worked very hard over what seems to be a very long time period to get to the rank that i am now. i am very proud of my hard work and dedication, as i know all of my fellow forum participants who are voting here are as well.

the problem arises when there is a new surge of participants to the hsn forums who do not understand the workings of the rank system and who want to almost “get rich quick” and think that they can just soar to the top of the ranking system with one fell swoop. it must be clarified that the hsn rank system is an unbiased, computerized rank system that is BASED ON MERIT AND REWARD for long-term VOLUNTARY AND UNSOLICITED participation. WE ARE A FORUM (dare i say, a “club” or a “family”) OF HSN SUPERFANS WITH INDEPENDENT THOUGHTS, IDEAS, EXPERIENCES WHO ALL SHARE ONE, VERY IMPORTANT COMMON DENOMINATOR- WE ARE ALL FULL OF HSN PRIDE. IF WE DID NOT HAVE PRIDE IN BEING HSN SHOPPERS, WE WOULD NOT BE THE COMMUNITY OF EXPERIENCED, COHESIVE FREE-THINKERS THAT WE ARE.

also, and most importantly, i must honestly admit that as much as i love hsn and i love my forum posters and i love to participate in the forums, it is really hard to stay motivated- daily- over the long term WITHOUT SOME TYPE OF UNBIASED, VOLUNTARY, MERIT-BASED RECOGNITION AND/OR ACKNOWLEDGMENT BY HSN for our precious time and commitment.

and, it is nice to rise in rank over time. it makes my participation that much more valuable- i feel both to me and to hsn. if hsn gets rid of the ranking system at this point, and puts everyone on equal ground, hsn is only hurting itself.

i mean, let’s face it, the regular posters may/may not continue to post daily but, no matter where anyone stands, it should be unanimous that we (i’ll include myself in this category) as the “OG”s deserve a little bit of distinction somewhere for our continuous and un-interrupted loyalty, honesty and consistent achievement that has been proven over the long run and the validity of which no one can dispute.

i’m not asking for much. however, once again, IT IS COMMON SENSE that the “OG”s as a loyal and trusted long-term group NEED TO BE SEPARATED IN RANK from the rest FOR THE BEDROCK THAT THEY HAVE ESTABLISHED ALL ON THEIR OWN AND OF THEIR OWN ACCORD. 

also, as some other posters to this thread have mentioned, a BIFURCATED EFFECT of our daily commitment of posts is that they help hsn sell and not sell their products. in that side-effect alone, WE ARE A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH AND NO ONE WITH ANY INSIGHT CAN DENY IT!!!

***once again, keeping the rank system is definitely to hsn’s advantage financially not just in sales but also in getting an unsolicited FREE POWERHOUSE THINK-TANK behind it.***

it must be reiterated that our daily participation, full of our honest personal remarks and personal advice, comes with NO FINANCIAL COMPENSATION from hsn to the posters and NO DIRECT COROLLARY to hsn other than us posting our VOLUNTARY posts on the community forums.

it must be said that ***there is no one at hsn charting how many pieces we may sell or not sell of this or that piece of inventory. OUR POSTS ARE TOTALLY THE FRUITS OF OUR LABORS!!!!*** hsn NEVER propositions us posters for anything. 

***lastly, in the end, it is just a mark of disloyalty and arrogant, mis-informed assumption on hsn’s part to assume that we “OG” posters will be around forever without some type of nominal acknowledgment for our voluntary hard work and generous dipositions.***

therefore, i vote YES to keeping the ranks- at least for the motivational sake of the voluntary “OG”s.

 I had not thought one way or another about the ranks going away until u brought this up. I took some time to think about the pros and cons. I have come to a decision – I vote YES to keeping the ranks.

The members I engage with earned their ranks the right way by being:

Helpful

Creative

Insightful

Interesting

Knowledgeable

Experienced 

Intelligent

Friendly

Funny

Brave

Encouraging

Thoughtful

Informative

Loving

And the list goes on…

I vote YES!  As most have said we worked and put in the time to move up in ranks.  We didn’t have our buddies giving us false smiles to push our rank up or place us on the leaderboard (which should be done away with).  If folks wish to compete let them do so with the games and not the Forums.  This is part of what makes it fun here.

YES ,  many of us have really worked hard  to get our ranks .  Removing ranks may  hurt  sales . 

Buying posters actually bring attention to items here and actually sale more than the host at times .

Actually the number of  people that set and watch shopping channel  is  nil compared to  those that get online and get  ideals from fellow posters . THEN they  turn on and  ahhhhh   they buy . 

WE are your co- host  sales people .  .  PLEASE  rethink the RANKS .

Yes! A lot of people participate more than others and offer answers to questions. They deserve to keep their ranks. If not for them, a lot of things might go unbought because someone couldn’t find out what they need to know.

The other thing that is helpful with the ranks is, it’s easier to tell the spammers.

I vote Yes to keep our current titles.  I have been here for a long time and worked my way up slowly and honestly as have many of my dear friends on the Forum.  Please don’t take our Ranks away.
