Advice pls. on where to find a decent futon/bed for my 18 yr. old’s small room

Okay. I’m tired of searching for hours on this topic. I know we have some real creative people on here! My Son is 18 and we bought this home 2 years ago. There’s 2 bedrooms, ours is a good size but the 2nd room is small. They used it for a sewing room. He doesn’t complain but it drives me crazy as he has a full bed we bought when we moved here, but it takes up too much room. He loves the size as he always had a twin. I don’t want to spend $800 for a sofa sleeper, etc. The futons I’ve looked at are junk and the castro ones sold on here are too small looking. Any specific ideas? I don’t have more than about $500 to spend if it’s not flexpay! lol. TIA very much!!!

I agree with Mooncat about Ikea. Futons are not very comfortable to sleep on every night. Have you looked at Murphy beds? That way he could keep his mattress but the floor would be clear when not in use.

A couple of years ago I was looking for a sofa bed for a dual purpose room..

I found a new plain loveseat sofa/bed(full size bed)..for $400 in a local furniture store..it was a close out..so they could bring in newer models and colors…That room has now turned into a permanent “guest room” so the bed is rarely put back into the sofa position..I also purchased a foam topper for the mattress to make it loftier..

P.S. I did have to pay a delivery charge since it was too heavy for us to bring home ourselves.

A futon is not a good permanent solution IMO…It’s tough on the back.
