I remember my Father telling the story every year of Pearl Harbor Day, my Mom & Dad were newly married and when he heard the news he went running home to tell my Mom because he knew he would be shipping out.

thanks for posting this pookie!!! it is so very important to still recognize this day of atrocity even though it happened so many years ago. in fact, i was baking christmas cookies this morning with my parents and we had the news on tv. it did a little clip about pearl harbor and it showed brief footage of some pearl harbor survivors who went back to the scene for a special military salute. as the camera panned on them, you could still see the scars of fear and hurt mixed now with wrinkles of pride on those precious, again, now elderly, military faces. can you imagine surviving and then seeing your comrades and others not??? fire and brimstone everywhere!!! unbelievable. it’s just another opportunity for the world to thank those special people that form our military for serving our country and for bearing the burden of the world’s pursuit of ultimate freedom. so awesome, you are!!!:heart: best, my friends. xoxo
