JPA-22- Just Playin’ Around 22
Welcome to JPA-22 (Just Playin’ Around 22)!
This thread is about the HSN Arcade, although it can get off-topic as we chat with each other about the games(tips, questions, problems and accomplishments), our activities and daily life, special interests, pets, the Reward Prizes, shopping, avatars, how to post pictures, food and the HSN features.
We enjoy meeting new people as well as continuing the friendships we’ve made. So whether you want to make a one-time post or ‘talk’ multiple times daily, join in. Ask your questions, make a comment or just say Hi! We’d love to hear from you!
We also all try to get together on Friday evenings during HSN Game Night (8 PM Eastern) to answer the Trivia questions(assuming they work!) to earn tickets and to laugh and chat. So join in the fun and get some tickets.
We have newbie gamers as well as die-hard players whose names you’ll see on the leaderboards. Even if you have never played a game in the arcade, post your question and someone here will help out. We like to surprise each other and make each other laugh. So bring your sense of humor and join in the fun!

Especially for
How I play Level 18 on Bubble Boo:
This is one of only a couple of levels where you won’t be able to get a score much higher than the minimum needed to get 3 stars.
I hope to get either red or yellow as my first 2 colors. I take out those on the bottom center cluster so that I can get a passage to the green and blue bubbles on the 2nd tier. That lets me hit the red and yellow cluster directly under the guy. Once you get the red and/or yellow gone, you can squeeze in a green and blue one to take out those colors that are directly to the right and left of the guy.
Of course you don’t always get the colors exactly as you wish. Sometimes I have to take out the greens or blues on the far right and far right clusters (they are the top ones that have silver in the middle of them).
I hit the ones that start out as clear (directly under the guy and connected by silver) as the opportunity arises. This is one of the places where you can squeeze in bubbles past these clear ones (or the color that they become) to reach the colors directly to the left and right of the guy. Check it out with your dotted line and you will see that.
On a ‘bad’ game I may have to take out some of the clusters on the bottom right and left while I’m waiting for the colors I want.
It’s hard to explain how to play because of the variables, but I hope a few of these tips will help. Let me know if you need more help on this level or if I confused you!!:womanlol:

You asked about some general tips on Bubble Boo. You are sort of at the mercy of the order of the colors that come up: however, once you play it often enough you will discover that the order of the colors follows the same pattern each time(each Level has its own pattern) so that you will know which color is going to come up next and plan your attack accordingly. However, the order will appear to be different because you are not always starting with the same color on each game. I often restart a level rather than finish it if I am not starting with a ‘good’ color for that game. This is where playing many games brings improvement as the color order will kind of become 2nd nature.
Pay attention to those numbers that show on the screen when you take out the bubbles. You will see that you get more points when you take out multiple colors with a hit than you do just taking out one color. That number per bubble will keep going up with each successive multiple color hit.
The points that you get knocking out one color keep going up as long as you make continuous hits. Therefore you want to hit the color with the least bubbles first when possible. You can easily check this out by testing the first game of Level 1. If you hit the yellow bubbles first, you will get 10 points for each of those 5 bubbles. Then when you hit the red ones, you will get 15 points for each of those bubbles and because there are 7 red ones that will get you a higher total than if you hit the red ones first for 10 each and then the yellow for 15 each. You also get 1000 points for ‘knocking off’ the guy. If you take out the yellow ones first, you get a total of 1180 for the first game of Level 1. If you take out the red ones first, you only get 1170 points. That can make a difference over the course of 20 levels.
You get 500 points for each bubble (move) that you didn’t have to use, so that makes a big difference.
To get high scores you have to take chances with ricochet shots and for ‘squeezing’ bubbles into tight spaces. Use those dotted lines to help and also notice the place you fired from when you had a successful ricochet. That place will work every time and decrease your ‘misses’. One odd thing is that some colors will fit into a tight place where other colors won’t. I have no explanation for that but being aware of it will help and it will be consistent time after time on that particular game.
Good luck! I’ll put tips on Level 18 in a different post.
