JPA-20 Just Playin’ Around 20
If you’re Just Playin’ Around in the Arcade and need a forum fix, this is the place to talk game-talk and catch a laugh or two.
Some of those Arcade games are addictive, and so is this thread! Come and join our conversation. You never know when you’ll stumble into one of our parties, complete with virtual food, drink, entertainment, and sometimes surprise guests. You can count on us being here every Friday Night Game Night for the Trivia questions and answers, but we’re popping in and out during the rest of the week too.
Welcome, and good luck in the Arcade!

We’ve had lots of fun, shared our ups and downs, and learned so much on this thread, but it’s become quite long and so it’s time to move on.
I have started JPA-21, so please begin using it to post. You can still read and smile to this thread, but to be sure that your comments are seen, post to JPA-21. See you there!

I heard DBR is doing some housework so I’m feeling pretty comfortable taking a drive!

Have you noticed a new addition toward the top of the page? HSN now has a red cross so you can click on it to see the emergency supplies that they sell. Guess that they figured we have that on our minds because of Hurricane Matthew.
I took a look and see that they also have a place on that Emergency page where you can make donations to the Red Cross. I’d also like to put a plug in for the Salvation Army. While they don’t receive as much publicity when emergency relief is talked about, they do a terrific job with help when disaster strikes.

JPA-20 has become quite long so I’ll start JPA-21 later tonight or very early in the morning. We can hope that posting and smiling will be faster, but considering the other problems on the website I’m not counting on it.

Hope you’re hanging in there, florida. I see that 20,000 are already without power and Florida Power said that more than 2 million will lose power.
I read where the wind is even worse on the upper levels of hi-rises. I hope your building has some place where you can go on a lower level.
You’ve been shuttered up for quite awhile. Don’t go stir crazy. Hope you have some neighbors and friends in the building that you can visit with.
You can keep company with JPA and HSN while you have power and internet. We’ll be thinking of you and wishing for the best.

Thanks for all your prayers. Power is still on so far. Will face the brunt later this afternoon into the night until tomorrow morning. I’m on the Dade-Broward coastline:womanindifferent: They say millions will be without power. This is a big powerful storm and will proceed north skirting the whole eastern coastline.
It gets worse, it looks like when it is near the Carolina’s it will make a U turn and head right back down to Florida next week. omg.:womansurprised:. Unreal…..

I asked last night where Meme, Deek and Florida live. Meme responded that she believes she is inland far enough and many are being evacuated to her area.
I know Florida is on the E. Coast and plans to ride it out. That is scarying me to death. If you see this Florida, would you please let us know approximately where you live. I know you said you have been through so many of these but they are saying this is a storm the state has not seen in over 100 years. Have you changed your mind to leave?
I also know that Deek is more on the W. side of Florida but the maps are showing the outer bands of this moster moving more and more W. Would you also let us know where approximately you live. It does look if you are where I think you are that you are at minimal going to be in the Tropical Storm path.
From what I have seen, after it reaches N.C. it will go out to sea so if this does stay on track Melch should be out of the storms track.
I’m just worried about all of you and if you lose power we could have to wait a very long time before we hear from you again.
I keep praying for all!

Just saw an updated map for the hurricane. Looks like they have extended the areas of the warning.
Here is the approximate timing of the worst wind and surge impacts, coinciding with the nearest passage of the eyewall of Matthew. (Note that Matthew’s eye may never make landfall, but its eyewall, containing the hurricane’s strongest winds, may do so.)
- Southeast Florida: Thursday evening through early Friday
- East-central, northeastern Florida: Friday through Friday night
- Georgia coast: Friday evening through Saturday morning
- South Carolina: Saturday through Saturday night
- North Carolina (mainly south): Saturday afternoon through early Sunday
