HSN Arcade Issues
Good afternoon, HSN Community members. We’re currently aware of the issues some of you are experiencing with the new HSN Arcade layout and we are working diligently to get these corrected. We greatly appreciate your patience while we work through this. Thanks so much!
7/16/15 Updates (unless otherwise noted):
Hi Gamers!
We first want to say how much we appreciate your patience this past week! As you can imagine, last week’s Arcade updates didn’t go quite as smoothly as we’d hoped and our teams have been working to fix issues and tweak features based on your feedback.
We wanted to update you on some of the things we’ve corrected and are working on.
Arcade Menu Bar
– The black menu bar at the top is no longer “sticky.” Now, when you’re in theater mode and increase the browser zoom, the black bar will not increase with everything else.
– The “Community” link on the menu bar now goes directly to the Arcade forum.
– We changed the text color of the current and lifetime tickets from pink to white.
– The “Hello, Nickname” link now goes to your profile Favorite Games tab instead of your Rewards History tab.
Game Play
– Some players were being directed to the Rewards Store, Winners or Community page during game play. That won’t happen any longer.
– Fixed the rotation issue that prevented tablet users from starting in portrait mode. This issue only impacted users accessing the HSN.com desktop version on their tablets – not users playing on the HSN Tablet app.
Spin2Win
– Fixed the issue with the game not loading.
– Fixed the issue with the game not awarding tickets.
– Fixed the issue where the game would show the same matches for multiple spins.
– The Spin2Win rules have been updated to reflect the correct dates and amounts.
– Fixed the issue with some customers’ spins not starting at 10 on a new day.
– We fixed an issue some players were having logging in to play Spin2Win on our apps.
Mahjongg
– Fixed the issue with the game not loading on iOS devices.
– Fixed the issue with the game not awarding points.
Flip Out
– Fixed the issue that prevented some players from advancing past level 1.
Tri Peaks Solitaire
– Updated the game with new scoring.
– The game is now available on mobile devices, however, it is no longer available on Internet Explorer 8 or 9.
Rewards Store
– Fixed the issue with the incorrect messaging that a sweepstakes has ended when there is still time to enter.
– The alternate entry option has been added back to the sweepstakes rules.
Games Pages
– In Progress: The TS Jigsaw Puzzle image incorrectly shows “fastest to solve the puzzle.” Update 8/18/15: We are hoping to have this corrected within the next couple of weeks.
– In Progress: Watching HSN live and want to buy? The “Shop This Item” link will open in a new tab so that your game play is not interrupted. Update 8/18/15: We are hoping to have this corrected in early September.
– Added the game carousel back to the in-game and game over pages. This allows you to view games, in alphabetical order, without going back to the main Games page. Update 8/18/15: We have received suggestions to make this a continuous loop. Although we are unable to make that change at this time, we will explore other options to improve your experience using this feature.

DubuqueRams…..Thanks. I think I’m on the way back. When I lost my little brother I thought my life was over. I’ve since lost 2 school mates. I guess I’m going to have to get back on the horse. Right?

It also would be nice to be able to see the Total Tickets Leader Board more easily. We used to be able to click on View all Games on the ‘carousel’ or whatever you call that ‘scroll to play the games’ feature to see it. That has been replaced by the Recently Aired Items. The icons for the games on the View all Games page weren’t so huge before. Now there is a lot of scrolling to get to the bottom in order to see the Total Ticket Leader Board. For awhile after the icons were made giant sized, you could still click on Rewards Store and go to the games and still see the small game icons. Now those have been made huge too.
Another thing that I think could be fixed would be going to the forums from the game page. You used to be able to click on Forums on the bar above them and be taken to the Arcade Forum OR you could go to the top of the page and go to the Community and see all of the forums. With the change, it says Community on that black bar, but it really just takes you to the Arcade Forum. I have not seen any way to go to the COMMUNITY forums from the Games pages.

HSN…We really appreciate your working diligently on the problems. I worked in IT when I worked and we didn’t go home until the problems were fixed. I hope someone will be there through the night working on the problems. That’s the way it’s done when your lucky enough to make the big bucks in IT.

Erica_HSN…I think we all know to clean our cookies and temporary internet files, etc, and use Chrome, which is the only browser you can use to pay your HSN bill or look at your account. I clean everything twice a day, use Chrome, so this is not the problem with not being able to enter for the prizes. When I used tickets to enter for a prize, it still said the time had expired for entering, but still took my tickets. I’m waiting on my 700 tickets back. I’m doing everything that comes up as the standard answer for every problem. So, maybe you guys could try from your computer and see if it does the same for you and let us know. If it’s not going to be fixed we’ll have to stop entering. Thanks in advance for letting us know you have tested and fixed the problem!!!

Hi everyone. I have to agree with a few of you who like the new arcade. I also like it very much. The games appear to be larger and very easy to see. Thank You H.S.N. Happy 38th Birthday.

Yesterday everything was fine. Today none of the games will come up.

Waited all year for the new spin to win birthday wheel and it’s back to the points.
How about bringing back the free shipping and $ off prizes.

I use Google Chrome… I’ve signed out, cleared cache and restarted. I’ve checked to make sure Adobe Flash Player is current… player on right of screen shows what is currently On Air; however, there is nothing but a big, white screen where the game should play.

Please put the games back on the main screen. Now after every game I have to change to a whole new screen to see available games. The old format you just clicked an arrow to choose next game. This really slows things down makes me not want to keep playing having to wait for new page. UGH

I seem to have the opposite problem than everyone else. When I go to the Rewards Store to use my tickets, after I enter with my tickets, it says this game is no longer available for entering. Please return my 700 tickets and advise what prizes are available for winning.

Games show on list of games, however, when clicking on a game to play, nothing comes up. Does anyone else have these same problem?

I Just tried Playing … and I Like the new format. The games are a little larger and more visible.
I Like it! … I think I’ll Play a lot more often.

All I’ve gotten is a screen with a large ! in the middle. Can’t play any games tonite. 🙁 I want to try the new version and find out what everyone is talking about!

I just realized for all the negative reactions to new arcade (mine included) I have found a positive one. I don’t know if I’m the only one but I found that I would buy more on the old arcade. It seems there were more ads and easier to see products that would remind me I needed something. If this new format saves me money I will be a happy camper. I only see the current tv item being displayed and not other products. This is a good thing people.

Anyone know where the prizes are? I found the games and they work okay, but I have no place to spend all those wonderful points!
