FBN 135 wish I knew how to post photos. I would love to post a photo of my 1959 Dodge Coronet. It does look like the one you posted. The color scheme is somewhat different. There is more white towards the back quarter panels, There is also gold detailing towards the fins and near the round tail lights. The bottom of the car is white while the upper half is red. Quite striking. It was painted this way when I bought it. I was told this was the factory color scheme for the particular one I have. Don’t know about that, but she is a looker! It has the original red/white and black interior, chrome, etc. Of course, I have put a couple of sets of tires on her, as she is not just something to look at, but something to be enjoyed, as all of my little beauties are.
I also have a 1936 Plymouth Coupe which is dove grey. She is cute as a button. I have a back 1956 Cadillac which looks like you should see the Godfather stepping out of it. Her name is “Ms. Daisy” (as in Driving Ms. Daisy. If you have seen the scene where Hoke and Ms. Daisy are on their way to Alabama , well you have seen what my “Miss Daisy” looks like. I really enjoy her “slidebar” radio. It is so neat to operate. In my little collection also, there is a 1949 Cadillac which we have named “Hiawatha”, because the seats were upholstered in what looks like to me materials an Indian blanket would be made of.. She has most of the original paint from 1946. We clear coated her, keeping as much of the original paint as possible. I figured anything that was still around after all of those years deserved to remain..It was interesting to find that as far back as 1946 Cadillac installed under the seat heaters.
My brothers and I are antique car enthusiast. I love to ride in these old cars. The most fun is the memories I make with my brothers as we are cruising up and down the highways. Folks around town get quite a “kick” out seeing me in the old cars. Many a time someone has told me, “It looked like the car was driving itself/ All we could see was the top of your head”.
They have quite a collection of old cars themselves. If anything goes wrong on these old cars, these “shade tree” mechanics can fix it. They know these old motors like the back of their hands.
My everyday car is also a Cadillac. By now, it should be clear where my nickname “caddygal” comes from!
P.S. Love the car in your avatar.
