What’s your biggest packing challenge?

Home.  Beautiful northern lights on the deck,watching sunsets and moonrise over the water, fishing for bass, bluegill, and lake trout, happy hours on the pontoon boats with the neighbors, swimming and tubing with the kids, hiking the state natural area down our road, taking in art fairs and fish frys, listening to the loons, whippoorwills, and mallard, enjoying the vegetable and flower gardens…(sigh)… It’s truly heaven in the Up North.  But don’t ask me about our hellish winters!

 OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND AT THE CASTLE IN THE SAND HOTEL which sits directly on the beach with Fantastic views of the ocean  & the beach:womanhappy:

This will be our 16th year to go to Ocean City, MD & our 6th year at the Castle In The Sand we stay in a suite on the 3rd floor that consists of a large LR & dining area, full sized kitchen that is fully equiped, a big bathroom & a seperate private large BR with a desk & a second TV we are direct oceanfront so we get to watch the dolphins playing everyday in the ocean right in front of our hotel from our large balcony !!

We actually sit between the bay & the ocean so we get to see both the sunrise & sunsets everyday & they are so beautiful!!

Last year we got to watch the eclipse from our balcony & got to film some of it, just another perk of being right on the ocean :womanhappy:

We like to sit out there with our coffee every morning & just people watch & at night you can listen to the live bands downstairs at the patio cafe/restaurant it’s great & soooo relaxing :smileyhappy:

The hotel also has an olympic sized swimming pool, a restaurant & icecream shop to enjoy !!

It is pretty much in the center of everything not far from their famous boardwalk & if you don’t feel like driving you can either walk to pretty much anything restaurants, etc or hop on the bus which only costs $2 to ride all day & night!!

My husband & I like to go in September, the hotel prices drop dramatically & we always stay 9 days it is just so relaxing there, we also choose that time because they have Sunfest the weekend we go which is held on the beach with live entertainment both in a tent & outside along with many crafters & vendors it is a huge event every year & so much fun to go to.

So I think by reading this you can all see why we love it so much & return every year at the same time & why it is OUR FAVORITE VACATION DESTINATION :heart: :womanvery-happy::manvery-happy:

for me and my family, our fave travel destination is what we make of it. it’s usually very nice for us to stay local during the summer. the city tends to have a different, more relaxed feel. we tend to barbecue more, garden, eat ice cream. also, day trips do the trick of reversing the “i’m bored” days. i usually check community calendars and see what’s available. it’s amazing how many beautiful areas there are in this country to visit. however, if i had to pick an overseas destination, i would love to summer in rome, italy. my family and i just love it. there’s nothing like strolling the city streets and taking in the scene, eating a gelato or two or three (sorry, not sorry.), shopping at the open markets, frolicking or lounging in the green gardens, taking in the sense of community and spirituality, dining course after course under the stars. i could go on and on. i just love it. i say, all rome and home, all the time!!! blessings to you all. xoxo

I cannot travel, but love where I live (minutes from the ocean) so it is like a vacation everyday!  

Hotel Del Coronado – Coronado Island, CA – Family Tradition

Cape May, New Jersey is my favorite summer vacation destination. We have vacationed there quite a bit. First, just my husband and myself. The last two summers we rented a lovely condo and took two of our grandchildren with us, by ourselves, no parents. Unfortunately we won’t be able to return this summer due to health reasons.

Our favorite summer vacation destination is Nashville.  Love the music and atmosphere.  Everyone is so friendly and nice.  Can’t wait to go back!

Just about anywhere in the Caribbean.  Barbados, Jamaica, Puerto Rico.  Can’t wait to get going this year.  

It nice to walk around the Beach area’s closer to home.

Disneyland and South Lake Tahoe in CA and Hood Canal in WA.

The outer banks of NC.

We are headed for Ft Walton Beach Fl now. We enjoy the beautiful beach. To escape the hot, dog days of the Texas heat, we spend several weeks in the mountains in Ruidoso NM during the summer.
