Joy Mangano Comfort Pillow (cool on onside and warm on the other)
I bought Joy’s pillows (special last weekend) and they arrived this week. I was so excited but when I opened them up they have an awful smell … I have aired them out and they are so strong I can’t sleep on them and just today looked at the reviews and others had the same problem. I don’t feel that I should have to pay to return them when there is something wrong with the way they are made….has anyone had this problem and they got the smell to go away? If not, shouldn’t HSN take them back at their cost? Thanks!

Tonya…can you put them in large bags with fabric sheets—
is it a chemical odor or a dirty odor—–BB

This was my third order for these pillows. It took about a week for the smell to leave. My latest set arrived last night and are in exile until the odor is gone. 🙂

The odor will dissipate. I bought mine at an HSN outlet. There was bin after bin of them there. I checked multiple pillows trying to find the odor that so many people reported the last 2 times these were sold as a TS and could not find even one pillow that smelled. I cannot, however, tell you how long it takes for the smell to go away. I do like mine a lot.

Out of curiosity, I made a purchase and my Pillow(s) just arrived. Yes, they Are heavy, but not too heavy. There is a faint smell when I sniff the pillows. I sense that the smell will soon dissipate. Joy always gets me with the colors and I have the lovely lavender. My initially impression is that it is a nice pillow. As Joy suggested, I won’t use pillowcases on them. I plan to keep them in the Family room, to prop under my head and back as I’m watching TV or using my laptop. I Like it.

Thank you HSN KYLE—a pillow should always be the cleanest ,and fragrance free item one owns.
I thought this was strange reading the pillow had a bad smell. I wonder if it is a chemical dye cast smell or just a dirty smell- Sometines like in D/GILLMAN DENIM THE ODOE IS ALL DYE CAST.

@jk1408, you may experience a slight odor to the pillow when it arrives. This is inherent in memory foam material and is harmless and normal. The scent should dissipate after the pillow is exposed to open air, but if it does not, the air out the pillow in another room for a couple of days before placing it in a pillowcase or under sheets. If the smell still doesn’t seem to go away, please let me know and I’ll be happy to help set up a return for you.
