Joy Mangano Comfort Pillow (cool on onside and warm on the other)

I brought this pillow out again and try sleeping on it tonight. Nope. WAY too hard. Very very very hard. 

I bought these pillows on January 10– am I correct that they were advertised as BOGO for $49.99 with FREE shipping??  I just looked at my invoice (I too am returning them…too hard!)  and it says they were $39.99 plus 5.95 shipping  and $3.10 tax, bringing my total to…exactly $49.99.  This means that my refund will only be $26.94 after the return shipping is deducted.  I would understand if they had added the $3.10 on top of the $49.99, but this is completely deceptive advertising.  

I ordered these based on all the hype from the presentations and had high hopes that they were going to be great pillows. I must be missing something because it seems to get great reviews although there are 84 reviews BUT a "3" star ultimate rating, yet every review I was actually reading seemed to be a "5" star review…..I don’t trust HSN’s rating system to be honest. I thought they were awful and tried to use them for the first night. They are ridiculously heavy and like bricks. I went back to my old pillow through the night and tried once more but can’t do it. What is SO great about these pillows? They didn’t have any smell but because of the weight and density of them I just can’t sleep on these. Who wants a pillow that weighs 4 pounds each…..I mean seriously.:smileyfrustrated:

I love mine.  I took mine out of a pillow case and I’ve slept like a baby….just love them.  When she had them last week as a todays special I ordered 3 sets. 

I did not like these at all and can’t even put them in a guest room because Joy did not make pillow cases for them…how silly to sell pillows without any pillowcases to fit her particular pillow !!!

I got my pillows Thrusday.  The smell was overwhelming when I opened the box; I had a pounding headache within a few minutes!  I know an odor is not unusual for memory foam, so wasn’t overly concerned, and I put them out on the porch for a couple of days.  The smell is less, although still present to some degree, but I’m sure it will go away completely before long.  Then I got to thinking, anything that smells that bad … how is memory foam produced? … is there cause for concern healthwise? … after doing some reading, I’m not so sure I want to keep these pillows or buy anything memory foam ever again.  Something to think about.

Secondly, I’m not all that thrilled about not being able to remove and wash the cover.  The cover is very soft and feels really nice, but sleeping on these without a pillow case … well … come on folks, sometimes I sweat, sometimes I put oil/conditioner on my hair/face at night, etc.; I have dogs that sleep with me.  How is "spot cleaning" going to take care of those things?  I did try putting them in pillow case, but that completely changes how the pillow looks and feels, not to mention you then can’t feel the soft, fuzzy, smooth or bumpy cover of the pillow itself, so what’s the point?

Having said all that, the pillows are comfortable.  Not too soft, not too hard, not too big or small.  I don’t think they’re a "god send" or that I sleep any better or worse with them and they haven’t cured any neck/shoulder comfort that I have from sitting in front of a computer at work all day every day.  They’re okay.  No more.  No less.

I’m kinda on the fence about keeping them.  I’m going to think about it …. sleep on it, if you will, for a few more days, but right now I’m leaning toward returning them.  

Just throwing my thoughts/opinions into the mix.  Pillows are pretty "personal."  To each his own. Have a lovely days one and all!

What I don’t understand is that she says not to use pillow case.  I guess I did not pay attention to why she was saying that figuring I would anyway. But the problem is they are rather fat pillow and cases squish it and not in a good way.  Short of sewing special cases I do not know what to do. It is not comfortable squeezed into a pillow case and I will not allow it be used without.  So they are just decorative at this point. What a waste. 

How in world does she keep her clean.…or does she just throw them out and replace them every few months?  

Just wanted to try and ask again as I haven’t gotten an answer_  I need pillows and looking for the best.

This was a great purchase.

I absolutely LOVE my pillows . I ordered two sets . One arrive Wednesday the other set is out for delivery today .  These are great pillows  .  Mine smell like all NEW  pillows with this type of construction .   I think  most know that  there is return cost.  

Received our pillows and I let them air out for a couple of days before putting pillow cases on them like the packaging stated.  We have no smell. We love our pillows.  As a matter of fact, the first night my husband used his I was up playing on the arcades on HSN and around one in the morning I went in to check on my husband because I didn’t hear him snoring.  I turned on the light to be sure he was OK.  He was laying on his pillow and sleeping peacefully.  For the first time in I don’t know how long he did not snore.  The next morning he told me he loved his pillow.  (Believe me we have tried numerous pillows). I told him what I did, checking on him and all because I didn’t hear him snoring. Last night again, he didn’t snore.  The pillows are worth more because my husband is loving his pillow and I can get a restful night sleep.

I am waiting for mine to arrive ??

No smell on mine..I did put pillow cases on and no smell. LOVE THESE PILLOWS

I was Skeptical but I’m so happy that I made the purchase.

I Love this Pillow. I didn’t realize how much I needed it.
