Don’t Like Joy Mangano’s Huggable Hangers – Waste of Money
I would like to know how most of you feel about Joy Mangano’s huggable hangers. Why do so many rave about them??? I purchased 3 closets worth of hangers last year; it was a really big set of over 100 hangers and/or items in each box. I started with my 22 yr. old sons closet and found the clips for pants to be way to small to hold jeans or any pants. Could only use for summer shorts. The hangers can’t be used for cotton T-shirts or heavier things like jackets or sweat shirts. They would break too. I was hoping to have that perfect closet the way Joy shows it on TV. You can only use them for light weight things or open front tops. Trying to get a T-shirt on these hangers is a feat and struggle. His closet is still a mix of hangers for different types of clothes and fabric. I wish she wouldn’t tell us that we can have that perfect closet when she knows that her hangers don’t work for ALL types of fabric and clothes. [-x I have two boxes that I don’t plan on using; guess I will put them in my yardsale and continue to use my colored plastic hangers from 20 years ago.

I like my hangers . They take up less space in the closet. I am a plus size gal and items stay on the hanger. Sorry you experience wasn’t as well received.

I love mine. I bought a cheaper set for our coat closet, and they are terrible. The cheaper ones are not strong enough to hold even our light Texas-weather coats. Useless. I have repurchased the Joy Mangano hangers a couple of times, and they do keep my clothes looking nice. Nothing falls off of them, and they don’t stretch out my things. I am the only one who uses them, though, since my husband takes too much to the dry cleaner to fool with them (his words). My only complaint is that if I move the clips around too much (I am talking over the five years or so I’ve had them!), the felt wears off. I’ve never had even one break. I have no complaints- one of the better purchases I’ve made online. They actually (almost) live up to all the hype (nothing lives quite lives up to all the hype Joy M. can dish out, in my opinion).

I’ve been using Huggable Hangers for about 12 or 13 years. I started out with two Today’s Special she had and another set. I’ve only had one break. I already had hangers for my coats so I continue to use those. I love them, no more clothes sliding off onto the floor.

I am a new Huggable Hanger buyer. Got 2 large sets last year when I cleaned out my closet. I love the way the closet looks, but I need more hangers to complete the transition. My pants are still on my old hangers, but I will be ordering the suit hangers for my jeans and will not be using the clips. I love the hangers…I had 2 to break. I called HSN and I was sent 2 new hangers to replace them. Everything that I hang on them goes on easy and comes off easy including cotton T-shirts. When I do my husband’s closet, I will place his heavy coats on 2 hangers. The hangers are a great way to update closets. I am not use to purchasing hangers…so I handle them with care.

So sorry you don’t like your huggable hangers. I use them execlusively, hang everything on them, winter/leather coats and jackets/leather jackets and everything else. I have had them break usually when I am shoving them into an already too tightly packed closet even with huggable hangers. They are by far the best hangars I have ever used. I have also had the wire come out of the hangar and a little super glue immediately fixed the problem. When I compare them with other hangars and the space I have gained they are still a bargan and I don’t plan on using anything else in the future. I absolutely love my huggable hangers.

We just finished redoing all of our closets in our home.. Since I am a purple fan I am still needing some and ordering 2 more boxes for my own closet.. my husbant has all black in his and they work great for his t-shirts and dress shirts too!! I have used the heavier clip pants hangers for his jeans but used Joy’s for all of mine and my skirts. I did not want to have to buy more of the clips and hangers for his jeans and pants since we had some that worked for him and he did not need the extra room and they still look nice. I love her hangers and have been very pleased so far.

LOL with the amount of clothes I have, I would not be able to live in my apartment if I didn’t have those hangers! They fit so much more stuff! I also like how things don’t slip off of them.

I have brought 2 sets. I like them. I had a few to break, I was thinking maybe it was something I did or didn’t do. I haven’t ordered recently and I continue to like the ones I have. I guess I’m kind of on the fench. I’m being careful so not to break any more.

OMG! The set that is on now is CRAZY great pricing!
I ordered 3 sets…yikes…more?
OMG!

Joy Mangano’s huggable hangers are great. Purchased them several years ago and still going strong.

I’ve had several break under the weight of winter coats & jeans. Maybe JM should add an "industrial strength" model to her line. Make them at least 3 times thicker and a few inches longer to hold things like men’s large & heavy coats/jeans/suits. I bet she’d sell a million of them.

I have huggables from many years ago…I have faux furs coats hanging on them, leather coats of my hubby’s, all hold up well. I see that the people that complain about them are ones that have bought newer sets. Maybe the quality has changed. I have not bought any more for that reason. But my older sets, from 6-7 years ago are great and going strong. Love them.

My mom still has light blue ones she purchased maybe 5 years ago via hsn. Some are in my closet and I just placed an order for a small set of Hot Hot Pink. 1 broke and was replaced in the time we’ve had them. I have winter coats on these hangers. I’m hoping my new ones last just as long as these we currently have.

I love them have over a hundred and maybe two have broken. I do not use them with coats and outerwear. I could see where they might be hard with cotton t shirts. I usually fold those and fold most of my sweaters. They have saved so much room in my closet. Love.

Sadly I had to stop purchasing the hangers. The last two orders were varied versions of color, didn’t match original color and broke. They are now so thin and not made well. The handles come out, bend and the hanger part warps. This is what happens when a company becomes rich and successful I guess….mass marketing can ruin quality. Is so sad because the original were like no other. To you who love these still, I’m glad….maybe the ones some of us are getting were made in different factory.
