Your tips wanted for around-the-house exercises!
I’ve realized I do too much walking outside for my body at this time. Too much is wearing me down!
I really would like some tips on moving around indoors! For instance, in the winter, I walk stairs and around the house. The last couple of nights, I’ve danced to the radio in the bathroom before running my water (haha).
I am sitting too much and need your help with fun ideas on getting upppppppp! Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks!

Dancing and squats (If you can do squats) You can tone your butt and have fun. I do leg lifts also.

I walk daily, mainly for muscle tone. Since I’m in my sixties, I’ve added balance exercises to my daily routine to help reduce the risk of injuries due to accidental falls. I don’t use equipment for this (like a balance ball), instead I summon my inner ballerina and utilize my furniture and stuff for stretching and holding poses. Good luck with your fitness goals!

I am always amazed at how many times I have to get up and sit down. Get up sit down get up sit down. I go back and forth for many things at work and at home. It really keeps me limber. I am 49 and I can still bend myself in half LOL. If you run out of things to do at home just improvise. Drop something on the floor. Or toss a nerf ball and then go get it. My hubby has a habit of calling me when I sit down. That happens a lot. I always dance when I am cleaning or doing things around the house. Enjoy yourself 🙂

Get a pedometer! You might be surprised how many steps you take everyday. I walk several miles outside every day but I started with a half mile and added more every few days until I got up to 3-6 miles.

Get yourself a SpinGym! 360-817
I use mine all throughout the day a few minutes at a time!

I’m a huge Leslie Sansone fan, and her steps are so easy to remember. I turn on my favorite TV show, and I do about 20 min of Leslie Sansone while watching TV. I find this to be the easiest thing for me to do. Why not march in place or move side to side while watching America’s Got Talent! I also have light weights, so I’ll do curls while I’m marching in place. The 20 min zoom by. I read an article in a magazine several months ago titled, "House Walking." It talked about marching in place while watching TV. I also dance to old disco songs LOL when not watching TV. I also have the Spin Gym and like to work that while watching TV.

Oh my gosh haha! this is right up my alley. before i got a computer., about 10 yrs. ago, i was always on the move. indoors even! age could have played a huge part in that. and the way i ate. i always had things to do. and wanted to do. clean all the time. i was moving! kept moving. except weekends. i would watch movies, and relax for the most part. and when monday came around i was up doing all week. TMI but here it goes…..i used to weigh 242 lbs. i was 40. and one day i saw a picture of my new grandaughter and i. i was sitting there holding her and i could’nt believe i was that big! i asked people..do i really look like that? and they didnt say no. i started crying and knew i had to do something about it. i kept saying to myself…i did this to myself, and no one can help me but myself. there’s no other way. so i would constantly visualize myself thin, wearing a long slinky black dress with heels, looking fabulous. i always wanted to wear one. so i didn’t wait until a monday. lol. i started right then. i moved around a little more then usual. and i would turn the radio on. (yes radio). just move a little, not overdoing it or i would probably get burned out. watched my saturated fats. very low if any. more vegetables, fruits, and i did have things with sugar, as long as there wasn’t no saturated fats in it, and not alot of it though. just a little a day. i had low blood sugar problems, and still do. so sugar kept me going. (but thinking seriously about replacing sugar with organic honey). certain kinds of candy, cereal with skim milk. any kind of cereal for snacks! and i would eat bread, not alot though. it didnt have saturated fat. and that was before all the hype on carbs, i still did it though! this worked for me! and pastas! there’s no fat in that. and drain the hamburger and rinse it with hot water! made speghetti alot!! thats my secret. drain the fat! and i ate alot of it at dinner! filled myself up!. and enteman’s fat free pastry for desert? oh yeah! and just moved around and walked down to the end of my driveway and back almost everyday. i wanted this bad!! and i did it. lost 100 lbs. in 8 mo.! got into that slinky black dress and heels, and kept it all off up until about a yr. ago. i’m 58 now. its creeping up mainly because i dont move around alot anymore, and i dont eat right., and play on my hsn computer all day. ugh. i’m starting back today and we’ll see if i can do this again. im older now, but still want to look good and be healthy. i blame this computer for most of my problem now. lol. i can’t stay off of it. just remember, start slow, visualize, and watch the fat, and move!!. and you’ll get so many compliments hee hee! it’s easier than you think. so, gotta get up and going now! take care.:)
ps..do what works for you:)

One morning I stumbled across ‘classical stretch’ public tv show. I think it was the one
by essentrics. I really liked it but haven’t tried it too much. Maybe a thought for you? -
I think I can help you!!! I’m someone who has bought way too many exercise devices videos etc etc. and ended up hurting myself in some way. So now, I use two 10lb hand weights and do 30 squats. Then I do a series of five exercises of which if you google “do these 5 exercises everyday to stay fit for life” you’ll find them. I also do 25 sit ups. Later in the day I do 30 more squats with the weights and 25 more sit ups. Squats you can alternate with the lung squats too or add them in. I’ve noticed a big difference when owing the lawn now after adding the weights with the squats. I’d still walk but sounds like you were walking too far since you mentioned you’ve done some damage. Zumba is also fun and not too tiring or hard on the body
