John Glenn, first American to orbit the Earth, passed away at age 95! Proclaimed Last Great Hero!
John Glenn, the last surviving member of the original Mercury 7 astronauts passed away today at age 95! Thank you for your many contributions to the space program and to our country as a combat veteran in WW2 & Korea, record holding test pilot and Ohio Senator. Also, Glenn holds the record for being the oldest person, age 77, in space when he was part of Shuttle Discovery’s 1998 flight.
May you rest in peace. You were truly “the right stuff.” Hope you finally achieved your life long wish of going to the moon today…..
