I’ve owned/used almost every
piece of exercise equipment available, and I’ve got to say that Brenda Dygraf’s are my favorite!
Over the years I’ve used the Urban Rebounder, the Q’s XL-Glider, a mountain-climber, a rowing machine and a manual treadmill….
but the two I have kept (gave away the rest) are BG’s Air Climber and her new SlimStrider.
For many years I have jogged and jumped-rope outdoors year-round, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve been looking for indoor alternatives to give me a similar workout when I can’t go outside.
I’ve had the AC for years and used sporadically…..it’s a great no-impact workout, especially if I use the resistance bands for the arms…
but I just got the new SlimStrider, and…..it’s actually fun to use! You can go any speed and the pedals have a360
degree capability…..so you can do full leg extensions, long strides, skating strides, extend legs out from your sides and even semi-squat while striding!
It does take some time to assemble, but it is so worth it. The machine is silent, sturdy and a space-saver.
For those who live in an apt., it’s a great alternative to a large treadmill or eliptical.
Brenda’s are the only exercise equipment I use….and I’ve had them all!
Just thought I’d give my opinion…I am not affiliated in any way with BDygraf!

Found this oldish thread I started…Yes, I use free-weights at Planet Fitness for upper body, and I often jump-rope while jogging for a total body workout.
Several months have passed since start of thread…did anyone get the SlimStriddr, or AirClimber (now on 5-flex/$20)?
It’s perfect outdoor work out weather here in MASS., so I only hit the gym 2X/wk. for weight training.
What’s everyone else doing to get/stay Fit? -
Great work. Have you considered including weight training? A couple of 3 pound dumbbells and you have serveral exercises to add to your routine. I found a website with 85 dumbbell excercises.

Hi runner I too have owned so many pieces of equipment that I have sold or given away over the years. I am searching for something that is low impact but will give me the workout I need. I will look into the SS, thanks for sharing.

hello!
Thanks for your replies! I am a longtime HSNshopper/fan but new to these boards. I like the newer updated look of the Forums compared to a year ago!
Anyone remember CERVELLE (similar to D n C), MAGGIE SWEET, and not to mention DG used to make SILK blouses!!??
Anyway…back on topic! I just saw that the SlimStrider is currently Sold Out, but I’m sure it will be brought back, as her Air Climber has always been brought back too….plus the SSTR is her
latest piece of equipment.
I did approx.40-mins. on SS and for 10-mins. I did full length strides, then I did shorter strides but in a semi-squating position, then I stood up fully and slightly leaned back.
Each position uses slightly different muscles and feels good! I dont have a DVD-player but there is a booklet included w pics. for guidance.
At the end, I held both my legs out to my sides, for about 15-seconds….I did this about 5-times.
Wowee! Could feel that for sure!
For some reason, I can’t view the products video on hsn ( or Tony Littles either) but Utube has them.
I’m in MA (officially "snowiest city in America") this year! So the AirClimber and SlimStrider are in use for sure!
I highly recommend her AirClimber ($99/flex-pays) which come w armbands and the Climber also hss resistance knob…to make it easier/faster or harder/slower. It’s a small machine, lightweight and total body and No impact!

I have been tempted to buy that slimstrider but resisted due to all the other home exercise equipment that I have bought over the past 30 years. Right now I have the pilates chair in my bedroom, and the pilates floor machine taking up floor space in my spare bedroom. I’ve had that for 20 years. I sold my Nordic trak which I used daily for 40 minutes and never lost any weight. But I’m almost 58 (2 more days) and I just want to keep my muscles working and not into jumping and punching and have hurt myself too much doing programs that were for younger people. I have bought so many exercise routines….. some were pretty good but after a year of doing them, my shoulders got worn out from the weights. The SlimStrider looks pretty safe to me! signed, Klutz

Runner57, I really, really, really appreciate your review of the new SlimStrider. We have been looking for more indoor exercise options at our house and have been wondering about the SlimStrider. Our eliptical that we purchased here on HSN is probably ten years old now and is still working perfectly but it would be great to integrate something that’s fun and new into the routine. Thanks again for your in depth review!
