UPDATE:

OK so, I called customer care and the woman I spoke to said the girl should never have said: "It clicks into place" in the video because it doesn’t.  She assured me that it was not defective and that it won’t come off when lifted.  I tested it out myself by doing one of the shoulder exercises (where you lift your arms straight up in the air on both sides) and it didn’t come off so, I’m fine with that.

THANK YOU for your post.  I thought I got a defective chair.  My pulley barely makes a "clicking" sound when attaching them to all the 4 posts and they come right off when I lift the pulley up or down, respectively.  The video doesn’t make this clear.  You think (well I did) that the click sound means it’s gonna lock them in place since there are "nibs" on the metal post indicating that.  I’m just concerned about them detaching when doing a workout so, I’ll be calling customer care about it tomorrow.

Yes I did watch the video several times but I can’t get them to stay on

the video shows it just sits on the hook at the top part of the chair.  did you view the video?..
