Calcium Supplements Question
Question for everyone if you could not afford to buy Andrew Lessmans calcium supplements even if its on sale and flex pay. What would you buy thats easy to swallow and does not upset your tummy?

You have to be careful with calcium supplements because if you take just calcium without the other elements that let your body absorb it you can end up with bone spurs and other problems. So educate yourself before you go looking. Having said that, I know what you mean about swallowing them, they are just too big. There are some chewable calcium supplements on the market, but again, be sure they have the other things needed with them. Sometimes health food stores can help you decide, but places like GNC I have found just push anthing on you, so you need one you can trust. I’m sure you will get some responses from people who buy them from HSN. I couldn’t use the ones by Andrew Lessman and I can’t remember why unless they were too large. I’ve tried crushing things and it still sticks in my throat, putting it in applesauce, etc. I finally found a supplement that has everything I need with the help of my doctor, but I have to take a little extra Vit. D.

Like the others said, it’s very important that it has D3. And if it doesn’t say Calcium plus D3 right on the front of the bottle, then the amount of D3 is probably not enough to help.
The D3 helps absorb it into your system easier and without upset.
AL is out of my price range (and I know many people will jump on us and say you get what you pay for). Oh well let them spend their money and I will spend my little bit of social security the only way I can LOL.
I get mine from my grocery store…store brand…almost always BOGO and you can find coupons. Makes it within my budget.
You should check with your Doctor before taking any supplements and OTC meds.

I just remembered something else the doctor told me. He said the body will only absorb about 500mg at a time, so if you are taking two to get 1000mg a day, take one twice a day. To see how much you are taking, be sure to check the ‘serving size’ against how much the label says it has per dose. A dose or serving maybe be anywhere from one to four tables, so that matters in figuring cost and dosage. The mfgs play games with cost and dosage so read the labels and compare.
