Acer liquid fit bands

Wanted to give one to my dad. He doesn’t have a smartphone. Can you still use it to record steps without the phone?

“This SmartBand will still track without a phone, but you’ll need the app on a smartphone to track trends over time! You will need to connect to a phone in order to receive call and text notifications.”
