Congratulations to the 11/14/16 winner, !
We asked: What’s the oddest gift you’ve ever received?
You answered: The oddest gift I ever received was already-scratched lottery tickets. I thought it was a joke, but the giver said no, they were just afraid one of the tickets might be a big winner!

I was given something that was made from beads. Unfortunately, it was way too small for my neck and much too big for my wrist/neither necklace nor bracelet. Never did figure out what it was.

I really had to think about this lol. I was opening gifts with my whole family and the man in my life at the time hands me these boxes that were wrapped it appeared last minute and inside I find a vacuum in one and a surround sound system
In the other with receipts he forgot to remove. Well let’s just say he must have gambled a lot of money in an Atlantic City Casino to be rewarded with these gifts yes the receipts were stamped with info / : -
..just wanted to say Mr Freemon “You lOOk very handsome tonight!”

The absolute oddest ( but turned out to be most necessary) gift I received was while I was in Romania. It was a coat the folks in the village made for me out of a sheep hide. It looks just like the one the shepherd’s wore hundred’s of years ago. It smelled terrible. Yet, due to lack of adequate heating in the winter, I wore it. It came to below my knees and was (originally) between an eggshell/beige color. I’ve kept it to this day as a keep-sake. Much effort went into creating this coat. The sheep it was made from had approximately 5″ wool. So you can imagine how bulky it is. I’d guess the weight of it was about 25-30 lbs.Even now when I look at it, I remember the love than went into making something suitable for this American. I’m forever grateful for their kindness.

The oddest gift I ever received was a magnet for my refrigerator. My Mother-in-Law had gone to a craft show and handed me a box and I was really happily surprised she had thought of me. It was a handmade head of a grandmother type of woman but it was homemade and overdone as it had a red enlarged nose and huge red cheeks, it had white wool hair and wire framed glasses. It was funny looking and as I placed it on my fridge: my M-I-L says, “I bought it because it looks like you.”
Just wanted to add my name here is the name of my childhood kitty cat and not a conceited me:catvery-happy::heart:

My elderly Dad started giving me glass clowns for presents.
After the 3rd time I opened one, I hesitated.
He said, “I know you collect clowns!” (I don’t.) I was polite & thanked him.
Later when he brought it up, I broke down & told him he must have me mixed up with someone else. (I didn’t want to end up with a clown collection!)

When I was 8 yrs old I received as a Birthday gift an Ice Pick! Who the heck gives an 8yr. old girl a freaking Ice pick?! It was in a very pretty velvet box wrapped in Cinderella themed paper with a bday card that read, “May you learn to pick your battles early in life!” Uhmm, I just looked at my Mom and told her, ” What’s this for?!” She just told me to say Thank You and smile…I hated it!!
My Mom still has that Ice pick and later found out it was a co-worker of hers that gave me that. Needless to say the woman is a very eccentric person. I’m still perplexed by that gift and have never forgotten that. Just very creepy and weird…. :womanindifferent: LOL!!

a friend of mine once made for another friend a real, scaled-down model casket, complete with felt lining, that when you lifted the lid, there was a new york yankee’s (baseball) flag inside of it. this is back in the day when the new york yankees had lost one of their championships. i never forgot it. nor did its maker or recipient.
priceless!!! :heart:xoxo
