Before my son turned 18, he became an Eagle Scout. Several times it got real touch (he was also with playing Varsity football at the time) and he wanted to quit, I encouraged him to stay in Scouting. Well, Scouting turned out to be one of the best learning experiences in his life. He went on more trips then he would ever have done with his parents, including a 10 day hiking adventure to Philmont in Colorado. My husband is the one who went on 90% of the camping trips. I only took him to the meetings, sewed the badges on his sash, helped him pack for each trip and kept him organized throughout the Eagle Project. I was truly surprised and touched, when during the Eagle Scout Ceremony, our son selected me to receive his Mentor pin. In his speech, our son spoke of wanting to quit several times when things got tough. He said "Life is full of challenges and you cannot always quit them. My Mom showed me this and encouraged me thought out my Scouting life. I feel that college and my future will be easier for me as I have learned that organization is the key to life’s lessons." Needless, to say I cried. I’m crying again as I type this.

His giggles, the best hugs & kisses EVER, & an endless supply of refrigerator art.
& if it’s a tangible gift you’re asking about…then, that would be a Heidi Daus turtle ring, that he insisted on buying for me, because "I just had to have it" because he knows I love turtles.
…he’s only 10 years old, so he’s still really, really sweet! -
My son gave me a place to live. I became disabled, no longer could afford to live by myself. Sat with me in the hospital. Fed me. Pushes my wheelchair. He does my laundry. Tucks me in every night with a hug and a kiss.

Last fall I fell and broke my ankle in two places and bruised three ribs. Moving was very hard. My four year old grandson insisted he had to come to my house. He told me he was there to walk for me and get or do anything I needed. So my best gift was a loving and caring Grandson with a big heart,

You recently had a question for people who have kids. How about having one only for those of us that don’t?

I don’t have any kids, but I do have a chihuahua & his name is Flynn. He is my son. The best gift he’s gave me is his love. Every morning wakes me up to sweet kisses & cuddles. 🙂 Love my little furbaby!
