USPS lost my return packages
I mailed back two packages using the prepaid USPS label on June 6, 2016 and it never arrived at the HSN return in Virginia and it has been over two weeks. It appeared the tracking was never scanned by the post office so I filed a claim but whose knows where that is going. I was trying to return two dublicates Diane Gilman’s items of clothing I received. Looks like I am out $88.00 unless they are found and either sent to HSN or returned to me. Has anyone ever received a lost item back from the USPS or heard from the USPS about a lost item. I usually pay for the postage and not use the prepaid lable, but I decided to use it this time because I thought the package would arrive faster. Live and Learn I guess.

That is awful! I hate it when things like that happen 🙁
Just a tip for next time… go inside the post office and wait in line. Have the person scan your item in and hand you a reciept. This way you have proof that you dropped it off. It takes longer than just dropping it in the box, but it’s worth it just in case.

Dolliee, I had something similar happen. I called the post office every day and pretty much drove them crazy. It was their fault that they didn’t scan the package. I filed a claim with the regional office, too. My package eventually showed up. Now, if I have a package pickup at my home, I ask the postal employee to scan the package in my presence. I ask the postal clerk to do the same if I take a package into the post office. I hope the package shows up somewhere in the system.

Using the prepaid labels is Very Slow. It can take weeks before it shows up in the system. If I pay for the postage myself, the package usually gets there in about two days (depending on the day it’s mailed). So your package may still turn up. :cathappy:

Thanks everyone for your kind support. I am still hoping they will turn up.

I’m not positive but the UPS label choice as opposed to USPS might have more built in insurance.

So sorry to hear ?.
I hope it’s found. -
Good luck. I sent a collection of Gourmet Cookbooks to my daughter a 36lb box and it was scanned but she never got them. When I checked with USPS I filed the paperwork and eventually they sent me the address label and my return portion of the BOX ITSELF but said they could not find the cookbooks which were $25.95 each so about $300 worth!
I am still dealing with it and 5 trips later to the postoffice itself they tell me to file a claim again online and I might get the postage itself back.
I will say a prayer for you and since you used the return label from HSN perhaps they can use that to track it!
I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

So sorry to hear about your packages. When I use the easy return, I make sure that UPS scans it and I get a receipt for tracking purposes. I hope that they are able to find your packages and send them to HSN. I know how nerve wrecking it can get especially for $88. The community needs to all pray together that they find your packages. Ready, everyone together… Pray…..may UPS find your packages and send them to HSN and you are refunded your hard earned money. Amen.

Wow! I hope they are able to locate your package. So sorry this happened.

No wonder you are upset….I learned a long time ago to always get a receipt for every package I drop off even for those with the Easy Return label. I’ve had packages sit at my post office for over 3 weeks before being picked up and taken to the main post office. So I’m wondering if your packages are still sitting at your post office.
I try to use UPS as often as I can…where I live UPS does a much faster job of getting things back to HSN. I hope your packages show up soon…are you checking the tracking numbers located on your HSN packing invoice too? At least you will know if the packages are in route somewhere. I once had a package mistakenly go to Alaska before making its way back to HSN.

Hello ?, please send me a Private Message with the order or item #s and also the tracking # (don’t post the information publicly). If you used the Easy Return label, I should be able to help further. Private Message is located at the top right of the page, in the envelope icon.

I am so sorry that happened to you. I believe there is automatic insurance on the paid label, I believe up to $50.00. Hopefully if they can’t find your package at least you may be able to get $50.00 back.

Sorry to hear that. Where did you drop it off? I would suggest going to your local post office where your packages are processed. I’m a safety girl, no matter where I drop off my packages I make them scan it immediately in front of me. However, I think it was misplaced somehow and there is a good chance it will pop up. It happens. Good luck.
