What to take along to wear-always confusing!

Shoes!!! They take up so much space and are grubby things at the best of times.

Samantha,
I love your luggage. I have a set of the aqua and the camel/black. I get lots of compliments when we travel. But, please let your fans know that Lufthansa will not accept your carryon and they said it was too heavy at 14 klg. They made me check it. Every other airlines didn’t even blink at it. And I did not even have anything in the outside pockets and did not use the gusset.

Oh wow…..biggest packing challange is an overpacking husband! ?? Even with all the shoes I take, I can still carry on. DH has to check bag every time. But on the bright side, sometimes that means I can sneak another pair of shoes into his bag. Favorite summer destination would have to be The Hague, Netherlands. I visited Paris in November….a summer trip would be ever more wonderful. Then again, Durango Colorado is hard to beat in summer. I grew up in Philadelphia and there is nothing so special as the Jersey shore and 4th of July in Philadelphia.

Packing to go is easy…packing to come back not so easy! It never packs quite the same!

My packing challenge is simply getting started. I usually wait until the last minute to pack. I rarely forget anything, though, because I make a list.

Bought your 28″ burgundy bag (and other products). First time of use on Italy trip got to hotel, attempted to open suitcase but zipper pulls were missing. Gingerly stuck my fingers between the teeth and opened the suitcase. Everything was in tact, but no way to close suitcase. Had to buy a new suitcase in Rome and had to leave my new Samantha Brown suitcase in hotel room. No time to get it repaired. So sad!??

My biggest challenge is not getting my torn up. I purchased several peaces (5) and on my last trip I took my beautiful luggage when the airline scraped the material from bottom corners off. Is there a way some sort of protection can be added in that area. I’m sooooooo disappointed my luggage is damaged.

I have two packing challenges. The first involves the snowbird challenge of taking one wardrobe for twenty below zero and another wardrobe for eighty degrees. The second challenge involves how to pack all the newly-acquired goods collected while traveling. Clothes are a no-brainier,but I like to get: a local cookbook, at least one special Christmas ornament (often hand blown glass),small antiques, and local treasures from nature (shells, rocks, pine cones, etc.),
The funniest antique souvenir was a real frog (taxidermist) that stands on his hind legs and is playing a harp with his hands; he stands on a wooden pedestal, and the harp is as tall as the frog (about 9 inches tall). I call him my Irish frog, and he travels with me on my St. Patrick’s day, and night, adventures–but that’s another story! He’s a special packing challenge which I’ve now solved.
My favorite summer vacation destination is detailed toward the end of this thread–and it involves few packing challenges!
p.s. The grog was a piece of taxidermy, not a frog taxidermist (spellcheck). The frog, no grog (typo easier to explain than correct; maybe not….).

Hi Samantha,
I find it difficult to decide what to take on trips. I want to be prepared for anything that could happen, so I always tend to overpack. My favorite summer destination is Aruba. I like the sunshine.
I have a question for you — regarding your classic collection underseater, about the clear zip pocket that is left standing up when you unzip the bag and lay down the front of the bag, — is it possible to unsnap the clear zip pocket that is standing up? Or is it permanently stationary? I have something big I want to put in the bag, and it needs to go into the bag straight, head on, not through the top behind the clear zip stand up pocket.
Thanks! I love your products. I have many of them and use them a lot!!

I fly in and out of PHL almost weekly. Although I do not have an issue at any other airport, I do have issues everytime I am flying out of PHL with the TSA/ airline. They are checking and sizing carry on luggage prior to going through the security check point. I know with the AA the measurements need to be within 22x14x9 including handles and wheels. These measurements also apply to Untied, Delta and JetBlue. Please advise of the meaurements of the rolling carry on for todays special. Viewers should be aware of the “carry on sizing” that the airports use. I want to purchase but want to make sure it is a CARRY ON.
Thanks!

I am a notorious overpacker. Bought the cubes, microfiber bag and the accessory organizer. Hope it helps to keep things straight. My main problem is that I bought hard sided luggage. OMG you can’t piggy back it and it slides all over. Are there any straps or anything that can help that? Wish I would have bought your luggage but mine is only about 2 years old. The reason I bough it – My old luggage was destroyed by the airlines. Wanted something durable. My favorite place – Grand Turk. I am a converted cruiser – my daughter got married on one – both my husband and I are hooked.

Thank you so much for these great luggage pieces and the packing ideas!!! I can’t wait to get my today’s special set. My only problem is keeping my college bound daughter from hijacking the set.
We are definitely using these when we go to Orlando this summer. I can’t wait!!!
I wanted to pick up a couple of more sets but my husband said we need to wait till our old (10+ years) luggage pieces break…where’s my hammer?!!! Got any ideas? LOL

Taking enough clothes while not making the suitcase too heavy or overstuffed. Samantha’s luggage is great, but please tuck the large zipper pulls inside if possible. I lost the entire pull when I checked the large bag, and now the outside pocket is useless since it cannot be zipped.
