Jackie from Slinky Brand

I bought a Slinky tank and jacket in a large. I didn’t try it on before I posted the review because I assumed it would fit as large is my size in this brand. I was going to wear it for Easter. NOT. It’s huge! Good thing I at least tried it on before the 30 days! What’s with Slinky? The second item that was too big in my size. Plus the fabric is not hanging right. It’s limp…especially the collars. Did they change manufacturers? I’m too new to them to know.](*,)

CS pants also fit me better too. Also the tops are better tailored for my figure in the Carolyn S. line. I used to like Slinky and have a few pieces from years ago but when I ordered a pant set last year it didn’t seem like the same fabric (thinner) and the cut just didn’t work for me. Has Slinky changed or is it me even though I wear the same size???

Wat is it with the rise of the pants does the slinky lady wears the waistbant under her bust #-o that’s why her clothes are on sale i like CS lot better

Her voice is off the chain and the prices are thru the roof…

Her voice can be teensy bit irritating and that NY accent is bothersome. But, she cracks me up, when she talks about how something fits in “the behind”. No silly euphemisms or doublespeak for her, she just says it. I love that about her. In all the years that Slinky has been with HSN, I’ve only bought a couple of pieces until quite recently. I discovered a skirt that is perfect for me ( 392-795); I bought it in three colors.

I was not insinuating that Jackie is not a nice person only that she needs to tone down her sales approach for me to watch her. I would think that any vendor who is selling something would appreciate feedback from the viewer so they can increase their sales. Is Joel, her father-in-law the same person that also owns Honora Pearls on QVC?

I was replying to the “cheap and self-centered” comment from another post. Yes, positive feedback is always welcome, one would imagine. And I did notice she was more animated than she has been in a while.

I have always hated the voice that Jackie had..she is not meant to be on television. She only got the job because it was her father in laws invention and she is probably too cheap and self centered to let anyone else on television..HSN needs to work with her about her presentations..they are just awful..I have purchased Slinky in the past but do not now because I cannot watch the show ..I am only able to watch the Slinky show if I mute the sound.. I prefer the Carolyn Strauss line and the Anthony fashions..they know clothes and they did not get their jobs by riding on the coat tails of a relative..Carolyn and Anthony did their homework and do their own lines..

I am not going to comment on everyone’s comments about Jackie but I have to say that she has improved a lot since she started at HSN. I don’t know if I could be on TV and talk about an item for such a long time. I will say that she is not cheap and self-centered! I have met Jackie, Jeff and Jeff’s parents, Joel (who invented Slinky) and Lynn in person, and they are the nicest, less self-centered, generous people. Criticize their clothing if you don’t like it but saying such things about them is not right. I hope they don’t read the boards. That’s the reason why Carolyn didn’t read these boards nor the ones at Delphi ever. Unless one has a very thick skin, cruel personal comments are hurtful.

I agree with all the posts. The line used to be so much nicer-more understated and better made. It all worked together so well! My mom was hospitalized suddenly in 2003 and ended up being airlifted 2 hours away. My daughter and I had to drive to the hospital after midnight. I had a chance to run home before the drive and threw 4 slinky items in my overnight bag. Stayed with her for what turned out to be 9 days and just rinsed out the slacks, tank, dress and duster each night. It would be dry in the morning! The quality was great, the fit was great, and there were no sequins anywhere! I haven’t liked anything as well in the past 2 years or so. There are so many other lines available now that are much more wearable.

Is it just me or is Slinky getting uglier and uglier each time it comes back? I used to love Slinky, but now, not only does Jackie scream but the embellishment is tacky. There is only 1 thing that I like in all her collections, but unfortunaly I will not be buying it. Inconsistent sizes and nothing up to date or trendy. Sorry!

I ordered Slinky once & sent it right back. I didn’t like the material at all. It reminded me of something from the 70s. I also saw it at this interesting store in my area, Jomar. They usually carry catalog returns, a bunch of junk really, but once in a blue moon you can find some bargains. Anyway, they had a rack of HSN returns & a lot of slinky for 10 bucks & no wonder. It was ugly.
