GLASS FILLED SAPPHIRES
Another poor quality item from Carol Brodie. Glass-filled rubies and now sapphires. According to my research, these are the worst of the worst quality stones and may be worth only $1 per carat. HSN should care more about the quality of the products associated with their name. BUYERS BEWARE!

There is a $799 bracelet that is glass filled. While would buy that? Junk!

Any color of corrundum can have the same problem. I just found out they lead glass fill pink and yellow sapphires too.

These stones are not durable, rare, or valuable. Basically, low quality corrundum infused with lead glass. You have to be careful what you clean them with or what chemicals you expose them too. The lead glass in the stone can discolor (white lines appear) or disintegrate, causing the stone to fall apart if exposed too long. Glass filled stones have air bubbles which you can see under magnification. Natural rubies and sapphires do not have air bubbles.
